I received an interview invitation on 12/11 and was complete mid-October, so even late applicants were(/are still being) considered, it seems.
And there it is....the rejection.....I really had quit hoping, but still, its absence made things better.
No rejection here, but I gave up on this school once I saw the guy's post on the last page... just swing the axe already Brown -_-
On U.S. News it says that about 75% of those interviewed are accepted. I also saw on the Brown website that many of their students come from other link/integrated programs. So is that 75% representative of those who are applying the regular way via AMCAS?
According to the last time I checked US News, at least, the statistics for the last entering class were: 281 interviews, 212 acceptances, for a 75.4% acceptance rate post-interview. I'm still curious about whether this includes the ~60 (I think?) or so people who come in from other guaranteed acceptance programs, like the undergrad path; I would assume it does. Even so, that would only bring the totals to 221 traditional interviews, 152 traditional acceptances, which is still a 68.8% acceptance rate. Not too shabby, if that's the case.
I don't think the pathway people are interviewed, so it's 152/281 = 54%
On my interview day, she told us that they are interviewing 280 for 60 class slots (for traditional applicants, the remainder of the class is filled with people from the other application routes). So, maybe they offer ~100-120 acceptances (?), which would be about 35%-43%.
IIRC the decision date for the most recent batch of applicants who have interviewed is on January 21.
Does the decision come as an e-mail, letter, or does your status on the online portal change?
Can't wait!
Unless people can decline an acceptance via non-AMCAS route (i.e. Brown is accepting more people than who end up matriculating via those pathways), they are accepting 152/281 for the 60 spots, based on last year's numbers.
Wikipedia says in 2009, they accepted 113 for <40 spots via the AMCAS route (class size was smaller then), so they're certainly going to accept more than 100-120 if there are 60 spots now.
Waitlisted.
I was really hoping for this cycle to end early for me.
Accepted!! and a few days earlier than expected. guess they wanted to enjoy the long weekend. now, so will I 😀
After my interview, I was set on Brown. I'm instate, and would love to stay in this area. Thanks! Was Brown your #1? For some reason I thought you were most focused on another school. I hope things work out for you though
Congrats! What kinda stats are you working with?
waitlisted.

+1 🙁🙁
I've heard, but don't quote me on this, that this year the admissions committee has decided to curtail their pool of interviewees, which can be inferred to mean a smaller wait list. If Brown Alpert is your top choice, I recommend that you demonstrate your interest along with any updates through a heart-felt written letter to the admissions team. Best of luck!![]()
And instead of spending hours writing a 'heart-felt letter' to admissions, I would suggest just buying some toilet paper online and mailing it to the admissions office instead. The end result is the same, but at least the toilet paper has a practical use.
+1 Just got accepted too! My first, so I'm flooded w/ excitement and relief. Go Bears!

Do you (or anyone) know if IIs are done for this school? I still have silence (complete Sept 17), and obviously the lack of correspondence is extremely frustrating.
edit: apps were up 50% compared to last year? Wow
I saw one but it's closed for people with a brown email address...I think it is just PLME students at this point.
Supposedly a lot of waitlist movement here.
I got an email last week saying that the committee has completed its preliminary review of applicants... I'm not positive, but I have a feeling that if we haven't already been invited for an interview, they won't be offering any more.
That's good to hear.
Well, I'm basing it mostly on the US/World News stats. 291 interviewed for 220 accepted. Even if that includes the PLMEs as guaranteed enrollees, it's ~240 interviewed (290 if they aren't formally interviewed), 180 accepted.
Now, that could be grossly inaccurate, but it would seem to imply a fair share of turnover. I imagine it's because people take the research ranking of a lot of schools (Michigan, WashU, etc.), claim that makes them better than Brown, and then go to those schools instead...even though research has nothing to do with clinical training, and Brown's match list matches (if not exceeds) a lot of the so-called top 20/30.
PLME are not formally interviewed. 180/290 makes sense. Note that 180 includes post-interview acceptances and post-waitlist acceptances. This gives brown a recruitment rate of 33% (60/180), which is consistent with a lot of school.
