I just found out about the existence of CP program today--I hadn't given it much consideration before because I wanted to stay a bit closer to home in the Northeast for med school, but it sounds fantastic (especially after reading everyone's posts in this thread!)

I see on their website, though, that they recommend people apply June/July. But it's already late August, so does anyone have any advice as to if it's probably too late now to bother applying? Thanks!

Not a problem. I just remembered they did ask about the optional scholarly essay for the 2010 app cycle. They also required the research essay to be exclusively for CP too, but I guess they mixed it up or decided to cut down on their reading. Maybe for someone who applies to the UP only it is included. The essays have slight differences in what they ask. Not a problem either way.
 
So is it really detrimental to go over the character limit? I'm only a few sentences over on one of the essays....

We have been down this road many a'time. Do not exceed the character limits. There is plenty of space to answer the questions in a satisfactory manner. If you think you are not able to do this - you may be missing the point of the essays.

I am having trouble uploading my jpeg photo. Any suggestions? I have cut it down to 23 kB and it still won't upload. It isn't in the perfect 150 x 150 pixels they are asking for, but it is less than the size they suggest. Also, it will be so small, that when they zoom in it will be a distorted image. Help please. Thanks.

Case is aware that 150 x 150 pixels will look like **** if you zoom in on it. They're asking for a thumbnail. Just follow the directions; it's easy to crop a photo to 150 x 150 pixels using almost any photo editing software. It should work after that.

I understand that but what I am saying is that my software doesn't save it exactly as 150 x 150 due to the ratio of the photo. I can make either width or length 150 pixels but the other side will be smaller or larger depending on the ratio. I can't seem to figure out why it won't upload as either a .gif or .jpeg if it is <25 kb unless it has to be exactly 150 x 150 to work. If the latter, then I guess I will have to play with it until it does. Thanks.

Crop it till its a square then you can resize it to the dimensions given.

I cropped it to 150 x 150 and had to save it as .gif to make it <25 kb. I think something is wrong with my secondary application or maybe I need to switch browsers because it still wouldn't load. I am using IE v8. I may need to call them tomorrow. I know that I am not computer illiterate, lol! Thanks for your help.
 
You should be able to adjust the .jpg quality to make it <25 KB.

I wasn't able to compress it any smaller or upload it using the Microsoft Office software. I e-mailed the technical support team and the lady had to upload it for me. I sent her both .jpeg (33 kb) and .gif (10 kb). I asked if you could compress the .jpeg photo more to do so, but she only uploaded the .gif. My secondary may have had a glitch in it. My essays are done but I am thinking about rewriting the greatest challenge one. Still waiting on new MCAT, so I still have time. Thanks for your advice though.
 
I planned on applying to th university track, but i don't have a ton of reserlarch experience only 6 months between 2 labs. Does case expect us to have a lot of research even for the UP?
 
UP interview invite this morning! Very excited, though wondering what this means regarding CP...

You could - what are we talking here? Celiac? Just call and explain the diet. Is it something uber-difficult to acquire? Politely ask if they can have a special meal - even so eat a big breakfast and bring some snacks. never hurts to be prepared.

Any e-mail address will be adequate for a grade update, IMHO.
 
Rejection email this morning, first one. OOS, >3.6, >32, complete first week of August. Oh well.

i was complete on 7/26 and got my II on 7/31...it's def possible
 
University program only, I hope? Complete 8/1 here and I've heard nothing. I applied to both programs, though. Fingers crossed. I love Case.

Hi, I'm hoping to send in my app soon (been 4 weeks.. Is that too slow?) anyway I was a little dismayed after logging in and seeing only 1 research essay prompt after spending a great deal of time to write 2 essays.
I'm applying to cp and up so could someone clarify for me?
I wrote one essay more along the lines of "most importantly, any thoughts about what this experience meant to you."
And the second essay more like a project review becuase the cp and up research prompts are slightly different. However, the only prompt I see on the secondary page is the cp one that does not specifically ask for "most importantly, any thoughts about what this experience meant to you."
Does anyone have any advice on which prompt I should try to follow more?

Follow the prompt that appears on your actual application.
 
II just received! Complete 7/23, so there is still hope for people completed "early."

Anyone heard back from the student hosts yet? I submitted my "rank list" on the day the email was sent out, but haven't heard anything .. Probably nobody dealt with it during the long weekend, but the first interview dates are coming up pretty soon

I emailed them back with my requests on the day of (8/30) and was placed with a student host 16 hours later on the morning of 8/31 with my top choice. Maybe your student host choices don't like you 😉. Haha but really, my guess is that they just go down your list, top to bottom. Maybe someone on your list is slow to respond and it's bogging down the process a bit? That's my thought.
 
UP Interview Invite!!!! SO excited Case is one of my top choices. Complete 8/1, interview for 9/21

3.4 cgpa, 3.5 sgpa, 4.0 BU SMP graduate gpa, 35S
 
I have to say, I was hoping to have heard from Case by now. This waiting is killing me. Complete 8/1, and I applied to both programs. Anybody have any guesses the longest we relatively early applicants might have to wait? I figured six weeks at the max, but maybe that's unrealistic.

I was complete 7/23 and no word either, so 8-12 weeks doesn't seem like a stretch. No news is good news for now though, since they've been actively accepting and rejecting
 
Rejected from CP. Was one of my top choices, so it stings, but having an interview scheduled for UP makes it a bit easier...
