I have promised myself that if during this very difficult time in my life Howard grants me the opportunity to become a physician, I will dedicate my whole life to HUCM and the mission.
I have all rejections so far.
Howard is my number 1 choice and at this point also my only hope.

Well said hsaid. You have good intentions and hopefully you will receive an opportunity to live by your words. Hang in there; hopefully we all can make it.

In the mean time, don't stop volunteering at hospitals to receive that clinical experience, keep the passion alive on WHY med school and becoming a doctor is the perfect fit for you. I try to involve myself in as many volunteer projects as possible because who knows when I will get the time and oppt to do it again (since I am off from school and work full-time). I wish everyone the very best for this year of 2013 🙂

Hey, I believe that is a good e-mail to send it to. I have sent my e-mails and LOI to Ms. Walk as well she is a good contact person and responds if needed. Good luck!

I submitted mines on paper. I think they recently switched to online. Are you putting 2 courses on the same line as indicated in your question? 1100 should be on a different line from 1101 because it is a different semester. Sorry, I cannot provide more assistance. Maybe others who recently tackled the secondaries can help you.

It saved, and I checked back on the page to be sure it saved before submitting, but once I submitted the secondary it all disappeared, so I’m not sure if course work has been saving for electronic copies or not. Does anyone who sent the electronic secondary have any feedback with this

Hey! I am sort of having the same problem. I submitted the secondary and paid the fee a while ago, however, it kept saying the application is not ready due to missing LORs. I had 2 science professors already on file on amcas and actually just had another sent out on Friday. However, it was just brought to my attention that Howard only received one of my LORs from amcas and is missing the other-cant believe I didnt click the select all option when I thought I did. Will this hinder me? I resubmitted the amcas app again today in hopes that they receive the LOR, but are LOR included when they mean all secondarys are due on the 15th? Or do they mean it must be submitted by the 15th with the fee paid? I wish I could call them, but next call in hours are on Thursday! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did everyone get the email today? It should have answered most of our questions. For example, the email said that the website will not show that LORs are received even though they have them, as long as AMCAS has them.

For the person who forgot to check the boxes for the LOR, if you did it today, it should be fine, assuming AMCAS already had the letters and all you had to do was add the designated school.

Yea! They fixed the online secondary so it now shows my app is complete. I'm assuming that it was considered complete awhile ago but I'm glad to see that it shows it now. 🙂

I think I was the only one that did that, but before your interview starts, they will ask you about your fall grades anyway. I am not sure if they want your grades before hand but it wouldn't hurt to call the office and ask.

I interviewed at Howard about 11 days ago and with this being my first interview it was phenomenal. The group I interviewed with and the medical students were down to earth and you could tell that medical students, faculty and admissions officers were really a family.

It may be helpful to give an update for your course grades. Definitely give the office a call.

I gave them a copy of my official transcript just to be safe. I am not sure if they accept copies (unofficial transcript). My university allows me to email a pdf version of my official transcript to myself so I can print it out.

with the grade updates, give them a call to let them know you can update. If they want your transcript they will let you know. if not, dont worry about it.

Just wanted to give everyone a sense of the timeline:

I interviewed on Nov 25(ish), was told I would hear back within a month (so I got a bit nervous), received an email on Jan 16 saying that my file was out of committee, and got an email today saying that the decision letter was sent out and that I could call today to find out the decision.

Good luck to all! To those who interviewed and haven't heard back within a month, be patient!

I have been completed since early September and have not received any word for an interview. I called multiple times since then and spoken to different people and they all say still under review. I email Mrs. Walk and she said still being considered. Fingers crossed still since there is still a good amount of time left.

Yeah I've been complete since the early October and nothing yet. 3.67 cGPA/ 3.85 sGPA/ 28 MCAT. I hope they give me a shot
