Congrats to those already accepted!! 🙂

To those of you that have interviewed and have received a response already, whether it was an acceptance, rejection, or wait-list... can you please comment on how you received notification?
Did you first receive an "out of committee" email and then get a separate email telling you to call in?...or was it an email and then a letter in the mail?
Did anyone only get a letter in the mail?

I interviewed back in March and have been driving myself crazy waiting and just want to know what to expect.😕😱😕

Hey you guys, long time lurker here. Just received my acceptance today and I'm so thankful for it!!! I interviewed April 2nd.
 
Congrats! How did you find out? Was it via email or phone call?
 
Congrats btolive27!!!

I got the first email saying that the committee has reviewed my application, post interviewed but this was two weeks ago. Havent heard anything since. Should I accept this as a post interview rejection?

I honestly wouldn't count anything out just yet. If it is anything like last year, I'm sure there are going to be a nice amount of slots opening up.

Orientation: July 18
First day of class: July 25
White Coat: August 2

I interviewed last week and am anxiously awaiting the outcome. The interview day was phenomenal! They all really go out of their way to make the entire experience enjoyable and informative. I know now, more than ever, that HUCM is the perfect fit for my needs and I hope they see the same in me!

Still haven't heard zilch. When do they release all applicants and send rejections? Is it May?
 
No interview. Im just a little annoyed by these schools that require you to complete secondaries and then they don't give you a response for the entire year. For gosh sakes, just reject me already! I am paying to wait around all year! There has to be a better way! Lol
 
I interviewed on 4/10. Im starting to get anxious. I think Im gonna give Ms. Walk a call tomorrow.

I interviewed mid-March...I called a couple of weeks ago to check on my status and was told that my application was still under review. Not sure if I should call again, as I'm approaching 6 weeks-post interview :-/
 
ok thanks for the information..Where did you hear that from? I remember Mr. Walk mentioning orientation date at the interview but I couldnt remember the exact date. However, the thought that the white coat ceremony was before classes began.
 
I interviewed 4/2. Received an email this past Friday saying that my file was out of committee and was awaiting a signature from the dean. Received another email today saying I should receive "a large email" this afternoon. They are driving me a little insane! Just tell me already - whatever the outcome!!

Hello! Long time lurker here! I just wanted to know if anyone on the thread had received an actual rejection as of yet? I interviewed on the 4/3, and I am losing my mind 🙁 I just wanted to know if anyone heard a flat out NO yet. Thanks for any insight!
 
I have a question: To start med school - say in the Fall of 2014. When do i need to have my application in by?
Say i get an acceptance letter this year? I don't start classes until the following year? For those that have their acceptance letter now, when did you apply and when are you due to start classes?

Confused.
 
Hi Jumoke,

Applying for medical school is a year-long process. If you want to begin medical school in the Fall of 2014, you can submit your AMCAS application as early as the first week in June 2013. For most schools the last date you can submit your primary application is some time in November and then each school has a specific deadline by which you must submit your secondary. It is ALWAYS better to submit as early as possible (as long as you're not throwing together a sloppy application just to say you got it in on the first day). Hope this helps. Good luck next year if you apply!
 
You need to complete an AMCAS application for the 2013 application cycle. It opens some time next week and you can submit it the first week of June. You will also need to get your transcripts in. Send the transcript to AMCAS and have one sent to yourself so you can fill out your grade info on the application. You should start doing that now.

As far as I know, no. Depending on the school the start dates are anywhere between July and the beginning of September.

I sure did, my process was actually a little interesting.
I called in because about 6 weeks had passed since my interview with no word, so they looked into my file then informed me of my "out of committee" status (followed by an email after the call). After that everything followed the same scheme as many applicants on here!

That sounds like potentially good news! I wouldn't see why a rejection would be in "a large email". Good luck!

Thanks Btolive! I'm prayerful that it's GREAT news. I wasn't expecting that it would be a rejection but was wondering if it could possibly just be a wait list. I'm already on 3 of those 🙄 I'll call tomorrow if the e-mail doesn't show up in the morning. Hopefully I can get an answer.
