My e-mail says that I have a specific condition to be met, and it's documentation/completion of two biology labs. Anyone know what that means?

Have you taken your 2 semesters of college biology lab (premedical requirement)? If no, you'd need to fulfill those before matriculating in August.

yeah this confused me as well, but on the phone they specifically said we would receive an email confirmation of our acceptance and need to electronically sign the form in order to hold our spot - non-binding and no deposit. so i signed it and i'm pretty sure it's just accepting the offer. someone correct me if they've heard otherwise.

Yes, should be this. Non-binding acceptance of the spot, and you can withdraw in May if you choose to go elsewhere.

May be that they haven't received/processed your transcript, or maybe it isn't obvious where/how those labs are listed. May be an error. In any case, email Valerie Mazza to double-check.

Can someone call and make sure? I won't be able to tomorrow.

I'm not too worried. It's probably just a misunderstanding. I still need to take biochem, so I think that's what they meant.

Yep. I'd recommend double-checking with them if there's any confusion. They were pretty strict about making sure that everyone finished their required classes before matriculating in August. Some people who got off the waitlist had some trouble with it last year.

Congrats again to everyone who's been accepted.

I can't find Valerie Mazza's e-mail. Can I just e-mail the medical school admissions office?

What's her position? Are you guys sure she's the right person to contact for my question? I don't want to annoy anyone.

They've already accepted you; I don't think they'll be annoyed that you're calling with a legitimate question. 🙂

Well, I just want to know how to address her. Dr. Mazza, Ms. Mazza? And what her position is. I don't want to ask her a question that she may not be able to answer.

EDIT: I may just call the admissions office tomorrow, instead. You guys think that would be better?

Haha dude relax... I would send an email since it's such a specific question. Address her by either, I don't think it's a big deal since we don't really know which she is. Valerie Mazza's phone number is also available through a post-interview questionnaire email we received if you decide you want to call instead.

Yeah, she's the director of admissions, though. WOuldn't it just be better to just e-mail the admissions office directly, instead.

It really doesn't matter... the email will get where it needs to go... just send it 👍

Just called admissions. Wanted to check to see if there was something going on with my application since I've been complete since 7/31 and haven't heard a peep. The representative on the phone didn't (read: wouldn't) look up my file, but I was told that decision letters would be sent out by the end of the week. Or maybe next? The sinking feeling that I got while I was talking on the phone seems to have interfered with my ability to consolidate memories.

Either way, it looks like those of us who have been in limbo since this summer will be hearing something soon.

you know, as much as this may be bad news coming... i, for one, welcome a decision. i really have come to despise the waiting game. I'd rather be told now that I am not someone they're interested in. it's nice to have closure over the holidays also.

This is on the admissions FB. "Decisions for the first group of admitted students have been sent. More decisions will be sent in the coming days. Several students who were interviewed but not admitted (nor wait listed) have asked for feedback about their applications. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applicants not admitted, we are unable to provide feedback. I will offer general advice in future postings to all students, as well as future applicants."

What do you guys think that means? That if you have not heard (post-interviews) you are rejected? I find it a bit ambiguous...

Yeah, 10/27 here, surprised to have not heard yet. I also submitted an update a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not sure if that will slow down the process for me.

interviewed october 25th...admissions said that I would hear back before January, 30th and that my application hasnt been reviewed yet. again, don't know if this is true

Got a phone call from my faculty interviewer to congratulate me on my acceptance. He even said that it was his cell phone number and that I could call him anytime with any question I have. Mind-blowing!

October 25th and I haven't heard anything...I'm getting very impatient!

Hey folks,

If you interviewed in late October, then you will likely hear back at the end of January. I've contacted the Admissions Office and was told that we were "mistakenly told mid-December: the actual decision date will be the end of January. [They] apologize for the confusion."

Feel free to read into that as much as you want.

Unsurprisingly rejected. ~3.75/33 and complete in mid July. Good luck to the rest of you! :luck:
