lol rejected. One of my letter writers is the dad of current MD/PhD student at JHU, he thought that I would have a one-way ticket to an interview 🙄

I haven't heard anything. I wonder if that's good news? Or if my app disappeared. Maybe they don't believe a bearstronaut could be a doctor.

Hey folks,

If you interviewed in late October, then you will likely hear back at the end of January. I've contacted the Admissions Office and was told that we were "mistakenly told mid-December: the actual decision date will be the end of January. [They] apologize for the confusion."

Feel free to read into that as much as you want.

Thanks for calling!!

+2. Now I can stop dropping reagents and ripping off my gloves at work whenever I think I feel my phone vibrate!

Sorry to hear about those of you rejected today. 🙁

Rejected today as well. It was my dream school, but I didn't have the stats. Good luck everyone else.

rejected today as well... I knew my chances were VERY VERY slim hahaha but I had to try!

Gratz! when did you interview?

Edit: no I did not hear back yet Donald, haha

Early October interview. I actually posted this information a few pages back, when I got the phone call from the admission office. This second phone call is just an additional phone call from my interviewer, which is really nice of him.

got rejected pre-interview. Knew it was coming 🙁

Rejected pre-interview. Oh well, I don't think I would have been a great fit here anyway.

For those who were rejected pre-interview, when were you complete? Where you even ever "complete" or rejected after just "submitted?"

I submitted mid-August and got a "complete" a few days later. Rejected yesterday. I have good stats and everything... but I don't think we were a good match. Good luck! 🙂 👍

I just want to make sure. If we accept the offer in the e-mail that was sent to us, we can still withdraw by May, right?

Yes. This goes with every school under AMCAS, I believe.
Man, I create so much needless stress for myself. I just accepted the offer, and now I'm worried about whether or not I may have accidentally clicked the "No" option. I know I didn't, but still. I need to relax, lol.

lol. I was also worried I had done the same, but I logged back in and clicked on the link and a message popped up saying thank you for submitting your letter of intent or something like that. So I decided to stop being crazy and relax. lol.

My apologies if this has been addressed before... I couldn't find anything in a search. What's the best way to get from the Baltimore/Washington airport to the medical school? I know there's some shuttle as well as public transit. I wouldn't mind saving some money and taking public transit, as long as it isn't ridiculously inconvenient. What do people recommend?

I took the light rail from the airport to Lexington Market, and then the subway from there. I think it took about an hour total, and was pretty straightforward (about $6 total, if I remember correctly). I recommend it if you want to save some money.

Great, thank you!

Anyone know if Hopkins is still sending out interview invitations? Haven't gotten anything, was complete 11/6 but just got the confirmation of complete app email yesterday. Thanks.

Submitted 11/8, got the complete email on 12/3 and just got an interview invite for MSTP a couple days ago. Has anyone interviewed for MSTP who can tell me if they provide housing or travel reimbursement?

VIA JOHNS HOPKINS SCHOOL OF MEDICINE ADMISSIONS FB PAGE:

Greetings and Happy New Year to you all.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun-filled holiday break. We are back at work in the Admissions Office and the first interviews of the New Year commence tomorrow, January 3rd. Just as a reminder, the application reviews continue until sometime in February, interviews are conducted through mid-March and offers of admission will be sent through April.

I submitted at the end of July, was complete early August, and still haven't heard anything...

I just received a II recently, so you're definitely still in the running.
If you don't mind sharing, can you also let us know your stats in addition to when you were complete?

I was complete dec 1st and I am wondering if there is any chance for me. I know this is insanely late, but I have a fellowship outside the country and my fieldwork really landed me in a no internet zone for a while.

sigh, this whole process is really starting to wear me out. Good luck to everyone!

Had my interview a few weeks back. I felt like I was asked one contrived interview question after another. Did other people have the same experience?

My interview at Hopkins was the most intense and uncomfortable I've had by far. After speaking to the other applicants on my interview day, however, I believe my experience was an uncommon one. Maybe we just drew short straws 🙁

Heh, at my faculty interview we definitely didn't spend more than about 30 percent of the time talking about me or my application. Not sure what to make of that, but I'll report back when I know the outcome. 😳

How was your student interview? I talked to another applicant who said her faculty interview was fine, but she got some intense/weird questions from her student interviewer.

Overall it seemed fine. There were some odd questions, but nothing unreasonable. Far from the strangest questions I've gotten on the interview trail.

I had the opposite experience actually. My student interview was very pleasant, but the faculty interview was a beast.

My faculty interviewer had not read my file before hand, so most of the time they sat in front of me and read my application...they weren't rude however and did ask a few questions. I really just don't know what to make of it haha

I had the same experience you did. My student interviewer was also just very friendly.

Neuro, did you have a male or female faculty interviewer? Mine was a female. Long story short, she asked me what the "N-word" was. Presumably, just to see if I would freak out.

Go Hopkins!!

Are the next batch of offers/waitlist/regrets coming out on January 30th?
