For those who were offered an II today, around when are they scheduling interviews for? I have been small pooled since 9/24 (not as long as some of you guys) and am curious to see how many interview dates they have available. Also are there a lot of people who where small pooled after September and received an II? I know I saw at least one person who was.

Invites are for January 4th and 18th. Not sure about those small pooled after September, but I'm sure plenty of people recieve IIs. You can check last's years thread if you are curious.
 
It seems like a lot more people decline II's as the cycle progresses, so that's something to take into account as well.

II this morning as well, small pooled in early August. I was weary about accepting and going because I thought it may be a very waitlist heavy second half to the cycle, but looking through last year's thread there seem to be a lot of people accepted in Feb/March. So looks like I'll see some of you out in Milwaukee :owle:

I was small pooled after September as well, but haven't heard anything. I guess the only thing we can do is wait... But honestly, I have been waiting for so long for most schools that I'm desensitized to this waiting lol
 
Is there really no way for me to express interest in MCW? There were no secondary essays, and as an OOS-er I feel like the adcom won't have a compelling reason to invite me to interview. I have a strong connection to WI and would easily attend MCW over any of the other schools I've been accepted to, but how can I communicate this to the school if they don't accept LOI?
 
I think some schools tell you explicitly if you're interviewing for a spot on the wait list... I think MCW might be one of them? But don't quote me on that, I might be thinking of somewhere else!

From what I've seen, MCW does tell you if you're interviewing for the waitlist

From what I've read they will definitley tell you if you are interviewing for a waitlist. Also, it seems like they are a bit farther behind in the process this year so I really woudn't discount an invite because the interview is in January. All speculation, but I'm guessing there are still plenty of seats left in the class. Plus, Milwaukee is beautiful this time of year.😉
 
for those worrying about the waitlist-only interview, I interviewed early March last year and the interview invite email specified that we were interviewing for "the few remaining spots left in the class and for space on our waiting list." so they will DEFINITELY tell you if you are interviewing for the WL.

Since MCW is private, they really don't have any preference for OOS/IS. You've just got to hope that in all the various aspects of your AMCAS app there are compelling items that will make the admissions staff think that you might be a good fit for the school and vice versa.

If there is anyone interviewing January 4th that needs to switch their date or cancel their interview for whatever reason can they PLEASE pm me! I'm interviewing the 18th of January and I'd have to fly back from school instead of already being home for break if I interviewed January 4th.

Anyone know approximately what percentage of those interviewed receive acceptances? I forgot all of my MSAR sign in info.🙁 USNews says something like 650 are interviewed and a little over 400 are accepted. That seems way too high. Am I missing something?

They told us on interview day that we can send in updates by the following Thursday, which was when the adcom would meet and make final decisions on us (one week turn-around!). I wanted to update them on one last thing.. so I wrote them a letter and they said they'd review it with the rest of my application. I'm not sure if they're receptive to update letters pre-interview, but they definitely are receptive post-interview. I'm from California, by the way.

Hello sir,

Here are your answers.
In state : 178 interviewed and 77 accepted.

Out of state : 516 interviewed and 124 accepted.

Total being 699 and 204. Doesn't mean more are accepted and don't take them up on their offer, though! I think I heard how many once, but don't remember the number....

I think the total numbers from last year were roughly 700 interviewed and 464 accepted, give or take a few students.

Thanks. Final verdict: interview here is very promising! :] didn't make it any less exciting!

Yeah, there is a small gym downstairs that has a couple squat racks, some benches/free weights, and some cardio machines. Our tour guide said that it does get busy sometimes so you might have to wait a bit to use the equipment at peak times (no idea when). And then many students get a $50 monthly pass at the fitness center within a few minutes walking distance (can't remember the name), but it's like a 24hr fitness. And then other students pay about $25-$30 (not sure which) for a pass to the local YMCA(YWCA) gym which is a bit further away from the school
 
I just received an interview invitation by e-mail for MCW.
Because I have been accepted at a medical school with which I am comfortable and confident, I replied to withdraw my application from consideration.

Someone PLEASE make some good happen with that interview spot!

Small pooled in August and haven't heard anything yet either 🙁 congrats to everyone accepted/getting II's recently. Hopefully ill hear something soon too!

a long time ago, I don't remember exactly. Secondary was submitted immediately though. But I had also applied there before, I'm not sure if that had anything to do with how fast they put me in a particular pile.
 
got my II yesterday while I was in another interview.
small pooled on 9/6.
They offered me Jan 4th or Jan 18th for interview, but when I called back after my interview was over at around 3, all the Jan 4th was taken. I was supposed to go leave wisconsin on the 18th back to school, but they didn't have any earlier date even when i pleaded. Now I had to change my flight 🙁 Oh well, but it's well worth it!
 
Hey guys, I added this school late, and I just got small pooled yesterday. Do I even have a shot at an interview at this point?

nope. the link itself takes me directly to my own fb page. Maybe you guys should make it public and rename it to "Medical College of Wisconsin Class of 2017" rather than MCW 😛

But yeah, link isn't working and still can't find it by searching. Surely it must be aliens!
