So, as some of you may know, I got a scare last week with an acceptance that wasn't real. So when I got the email today my first reaction was disbelief, because I thought they weren't meeting until Wednesday. But since a bunch of other got acceptances I guess I can trust mine! So excited! Accepted!!! Interviewed Feb 13th. Is anyone else that heard back today from that interview group? I know you were Nymeria, so I'm wondering why some heard back and others didn't? Maybe I should still be skeptical

Accepted! II in feb.

My backpack got stolen with the rush interview packet that had all the information. What do I do now? The website doesn't have the information.

I'm starting to wonder if they're sending out acceptances today and rejections tomorrow. No email yet. :scared::thumbdown:cry::cry::

Not necessarily! I remember someone said that they review when the interviewer turns in your form, so our interviewers may have turned things in earlier. Give it until Wednesday/Thursday! It ain't over 'til it's over! :luck:

Thanks Akeelah!! I really appreciate that. Keep your fingers crossed for me. :xf::xf::xf:

I'm really happy for everyone else w/ acceptances, congrats guys!

Also accepted today, interviewed Feb 20.

I'll believe it when I receive the official paperwork stuff.

Accepted today interviewed Feb 20. I liked Rush, but wasn't 100% convinced it was right for me. Will most likely attend second look, unless my top choice throws me a scholarship any time soon. I'm holding onto some acceptances because I'm waiting for the financial info/scholarship info. Congrats to you guys too!

So in the acceptance email they dont say how to reserve your spot, people who were accepted previously, do you get an additional email for this?

Yes, they send out another email 2-3 days after the initial acceptance email to tell you how to reserve a spot in the class. Congrats!

Has anyone else not received an email? Is that it for acceptances this month?

You'll get an other email in a couple days with more information on how to send in your deposit, etc.
Then you'll get an email to confirm your deposit, once they receive it.

The admissions office said that the last batch of interview invitations went out last week, so I guess my chances at Rush are now officially 0.00 %.

Out of the 17 schools that I didn't get II's from, I can honestly say that I am the most bummed about Rush. Very disappointed but I guess now I can officially stop thinking about Rush and start focusing on the schools that are actually interested in me.

Are they still handing out II's at this point?

Perhaps... if only you searched a little.

One thing I noticed, and just felt I had to comment on in this thread, is how snarky some people have been. If someone asks a question that they didn't see was already answered, just ignore it or lead them in the right direction, but don't be sarcastic because it's rude and unnecessary. Also, some people have lives and don't spend their days reading every post on this thread, so if answering an already answered question is that annoying to you, why spend your time searching and finding answers, and then posting those answers, just to do it in a smug way? It just seems unnecessary and childish. Had to speak my peace on the matter, as I've seen many people on here have been smug and sarcastic with people that are obviously stressed enough in this process already. Sheesh! I really hope this thread is no reflection of my classmates in the Fall. Hope this doesn't offend, but it's just the truth. :nono:

But what I actually came on here for, before I got distracted by the foolery, was when do people begin looking for housing? Here in Madison, people sign leases for the fall as early as November/December the year before. I'm almost positive I will attend Rush, so I am beginning to look at apartments, but I only find things that are available immediately. Anyone from the area or current students can shed some light on this? Thanks so much!:)

You can apply for on-campus housing now (on website), but everyone I've talked to has said April is the time to start looking.

Hey Akeelah, check out the facebook group. There has been a lot of housing talk over there. General consensus is: on-campus housing=do now, off-campus housing=you won't be able to do until closer to the date. Best!

Thanks for showing your true colors. If you want to attack someone, try the PMs ;)

If you don't like someone's opinion, oh wait that's right too bad.

 Only a person who knows they are snarky/rude would feel "attacked"... I guess there wasn't a need for me to "PM" anyone. And if encouraging everyone to not be jerks to each other is showing my "true colors" then I'm glad they were able to shine through!

Thanks for the help! Do you have the link for the Facebook page? I guess I could search through the thread but if you have it on hand I would really appreciate it! :)

Which school are you leading toward? I ask cuz you're holding acceptances to schools I'm on the waitlist for :)

Hi guys... Honestly it is all about "show me the money" at this point. I would be just as happy attending any of the schools I have been accepted to. I have withdrawn from most and I am keeping Rush/Indiana U./Ohio State. I was deferred for Ohio State so I may/may not get in, but I would consider it highly if I did. Therefore at this time it is between Indiana and Rush. Indiana will give us their financial aid/scholarship info sometime in April. Until then I'll keep my acceptance. I will probably check out the campus again in April and make a final decision by the end of the month. Sorry, I know the wait sucks, I have a lot of friends in the same position, but this process can literally go on until the week before classes, so I'll do my best to decide as soon as possible :) Good luck !:luck:

Is anyone on here going between their state school and Rush? I just got a call saying that my state school is planning to offer me scholarships (not sure how much yet) but I am pretty in love with Rush! I am really trying to figure out what to do. Does anyone have a similar situation and can speak on why they chose either, or a med student that had to choose give some thoughts on why and how it has worked out. I know it's a personal decision, but a little advice can't hurt! Thanks!

Speaking of the devil, just got a significant scholarship to my top choice so far.... withdrawing from Rush. Good luck you guys. Hope everything works out for you :luck:

Question... I received a great scholarship from another institution but I really am leaning towards Rush. I have a few friends in different graduate programs that have suggested that I tell Rush about the scholarship to see if they will offer anything. To be honest, I feel like I would come off as a total douche if I do that. But I really don’t know if that is cool or inappropriate. So I am wondering if anyone else knows how that whole thing works, has done that or is in a similar position. Any advice would help, I’m just clueless as too how that would work without seeming pretentious! Thanks for any advice!

Hahaha, no, I don't think it's inappropriate. If the school has accepted you already, they want you to come there. My opinion: write to Rush saying school X gave me this much money, school Y gave me this much and Rush gave me this much. I want to go to Rush for these reasons (list your reasons). Don't say "give me more money," but rather something like "Can I apply for more aid at Rush? Are there any other scholarships I can apply for?" Most importantly: DO NOT LIE ABOUT YOUR OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS OR ACCEPTANCES. Schools have their own ways of finding out about these things. And if it doesn't work out, you have other options to choose from. Good luck!

Does anyone know when we will get financial aid packages? And does Rush offer many scholarships? I saw a list of things to apply for online, but I don't qualify for any of them.

interviewed yesterday. they said there was only one more interview date left in the season, and that there are still 24 open spots left in the class.

oh my god. I'm praying I get one of those 24 spots!! aghh I interviewed 2/13 and I still have not heard anything back.

Thank you for updating us! That's good to hear!

Good timing!! The same issue recently came up for me!
I was all set on coming to Rush, but I can't say no to the scholarship I received at this other school. This is a great question.
Get out of my head! haha

Thanks for the advice! Do you have any thoughts and when would be a good time to do that? I just don't know when they tend to send out financial aid info, and whether something like that should be sent before or after I know about my fin aid package from them.

lol yeah, this is a really great/tough situation to be in. Go with your heart or your logic? lol

What did they mean by that?

No way have they only sent out 100 acceptances so far.

Sent from my SCH-I605 using SDN Mobile

i think they meant they have 24 spots for straight acceptances still open so they could clarify that no one was interviewing for the wait-list directly

People could have withdrew their acceptances....or withdrew before hearing from Rush post-interview.
