Anyone else having difficulty filling out the app. I'm just about done but its not letting me have a cursor in any of the textboxes, for schools, it says no data entered, and there is no upload box for the photo :/

What happens when you use a different browser? See if there's any difference between Firefox/Chrome/IE.

tried both, it looks as if I cannot input any new information as if I've already submitted.

got an II via email on 12/31! About two weeks after I was complete.

UGH i just want to submit my application! stupid website is still not wrking for me, no matter the browser and no matter the computer! I emailed them yesterday and left a message today, hopefully its resolved, I really want a shot at this school!

i guess i'm confused about ucr...are they screening for secondaries? i haven't received even an acknowledgement email from them.

Yes, they are screening for secondaries. UCR does not send an acknowledgement email. If you have been screened in for a secondary, you will just receive the link to it in your email. If you have been rejected pre-secondary, then you will likely hear nothing from them (maybe an official rejection later on, not sure).

Interview tomorrow. Pretty excited to see what this new school is all about!

Anyone from today's group want to comment on the interview day? 🙂

Anyone without any secondary request yet? should I contact the admissions office?

UCR screens for secondary. If you don't get anything, you most likely didn't make the cut.

Hi,

Is UCR receptive to update letters/letter of intents? Where can we send them to?

Thanks!

Anyone without any secondary request yet? should I contact the admissions office?

I haven't gotten one either. 3.9/35 IS. Added Riverside to AMCAS about 2 weeks after it became available, I think.

Anyone else have Interview: Not scheduled yet in their status?

I do also. I feel like it was there from the time I submitted my app though (or maybe I didn't notice when it changed? but its been there for a month), so I'm trying not to let the "yet" excite me.

I think mine was there to so I dont know. Mine was definitely there 2-3 days after I sub mitted when I checked for the first time, been a week + and havent been invited though

I've been complete here since the end of October with no word. I think I'm done here...

Anyone have any interview experience feedback here to give? Curious how they've been so far...

And is anybody with a good acceptance elsewhere still considering UCR (being its first class and all)? I'm still trying to decide if I should go to the interview

Don't get excited... It pops up for everyone after submitting the secondary. UA Phoenix uses exactly the same web tool/company/whatever you call it, and the same exact thing happens when you submit a secondary to them too.

If you don't go to the interview, please kindly give enough notice so they can schedule another applicant, and the slot doesn't go to waste. Best of luck with the decision.

I'm a UCR student who applied to the Thomas Haider program this cycle and had that secondary be used for the UCRSOM application, however, I haven't heard anything from them since. How can I check my status? Is there something I should have done?

They have a status website (same as the secondary website), but they send out interviews via email.

When I applied to the Thomas Haider program it was a paper application that I sent in by mail...never had access/instructions to any sort of web portal. Is there any way you can link me to the login?

Hmm, it may be best to call admissions and see if they can verify that they have everything they need. The website won't work if they never sent you an email (they send a password in the email).

Oh okay, thank you for your help!

So I had an interview not that long ago, I was pretty impressed by UCR. It's not really a new program, they've been training doctors for the last 40ish years (the UCR/UCLA agreement).. They're adding things into their curriculum and the 3rd and 4th years will be spent at UCR and you'll be doing rotations in the surrounding hospitals, that's the main difference. They have some pretty cool programs going on and because its the first year, you have a lot of room to make a name for yourself and start things you may not be able to at other schools.
The way they explained it (I'm going to stay on the safe side and keep it general, we had to sign confidentiality agreements), they really do review your application holistically and they care as much about your interests and future plans as much (maybe more) as your stats. Because of this though, the review process after the interviews takes a while and they said we probably won't hear back until the end of Feb or March
The staff is amazing and the facilities provided are pretty awesome. Everyone's really nice and is basically there for you, so if anyone's having trouble with their application, call the office!! They're really helpful
The interview - again, I can't say much. But if I could only give one piece of advice, I'd say to be yourself and have fun. As cliche as that sounds, that's what will make you do well. If you just go with it, the MMI format is actually really fun and I kinda got to know some of the other applicants semi-well in the half day.. there wasn't really a competitive atmosphere. Oh and last thing, the interviewers are there to help you, they're there because they want to be and they were genuinely interested and engaged in what we had to say.
Sorry I couldn't say anything too specific, but UCR has a lot going for it, especially for a 1st year program. Its pretty much my #1 now.
Have fun and good luck!!!

I also went to an interview not too long ago. And just to piggy-back on snaq (who did a great job btw),...I would suggest a few things:

1) Plan ahead if you're going to stay at a nearby motel/hotel .

Since it's a saturday, public and university transportation is limited. I'd suggest a taxi if you don't have a car. Otherwise you're looking at atleast a 1 mile walk.

2) Make sure to eat a large breakfast and/or lunch.

3) The building is semi-hard to locate. It's on the UCR campus, and if you're looking at a map...it's the old Stats Building.

As snaq mentioned, we did sign a confidentiality agreement, so we are restricted from sharing details about the day. But it's a great school. Asfor the MMI, try your best to relax! The interviewers and admissions staff are incredibly nice and accommodating.

Best of luck!

anyone know what interview dates are still open, or are they pretty much booked? Since their class will only be 50 students, I figured they prob wouldnt be giving that many ii's in the first place

I'm not sure if they're completely booked, but here's some statistics for anyone who's interested. They're interviewing approximately 250 people out of approximately 800 who got secondaries. There was also 2300 applicants overall.

Do you know what percentage of the interviews are going to non-UCR students?

I'm guessing much greater than the percentage that go to UCR students, considering there probably aren't THAT many UCR students applying, or at least no where near as many as non-UCR students. UCR students have a much better deal though, I can see like maybe 100-200 UCR students (guessing its more towards the lower end) will be competing for 24 seats, while the other 600-700 non-UCR applicants that received a secondary will be competing for the other 26 seats.

I'll try not to think about this during my interview.

hi there. where did you get the numbers for the 100-200 ucr and 600-700 non-ucr? just curious... and wow what slim chances!

Sorry, I should have clarified, my statement was just my theory, not official statistics. The way I figured the "100-200" number was because I know the OOS public school I went to college (that has about 42000 students overall) at gave us statistics that about 200 pre-meds will actually apply to med school each year from their school. Riverside is a much smaller school than the school I went to, so I just guesstimated that maybe 100-200 pre-meds from there applied this year. From that I got the 600-700 non-UCR student statistic from the fact that the poster above mine said they gave out approximately 800 secondaries altogether this year

oh gotcha! Sorry didn't see above about the 800 secondaries being sent out this year.. I guess I feel a tad special about the secondary invite then..

Thanks so much for the feedback! Super excited about interviewing here but I don't expect much of an outcome since there are SO few seats for a lot of applicants. But I still feel very honored to be given a chance.

@NekoBeats
I called on Friday and I got an answer.. I called the number that's at the bottom of the med school website around 3:30/4ish. Maybe try again?

Ohh (951) 827-4568? I didn't even see that number. I'll try it on Monday. Thanks!

I believe acceptances have started being sent out, in case people did not know.

I would like to know for which dates as well
I think they said they're having a second look in early April, so at least 50 acceptances should be released by then
