I got it a few days ago, it wasn't really a packet. It was a small envelope with the acceptance letter and info about what to do next. FYI no deposit until may 31 so don't worry about it.

Nope I had no communication with the school after sending in my secondary/photo. Other people may have had luck though with in the area letters or something, not sure. I feel like it's too early to send update letters to schools yet unless something really important has happened like getting published.
 
Just withdrew my interview slot in December, hopefully someone on here will get good news!
 
Big day today....good luck to everyone finding out. I was a 10/26 interview and they said we would be finding out today/tomorrow as well :xf:

Oh gosh. I hope to get good news today! Good luck to everyone, this is definately a school at the top of my list.
 
My Miller friend said they're meeting until 530 so don't get too upset if you don't get your call before then.
 
Anyone not from the 10/22 day get the call yet? Say 10/29 or after?
If we don't get the call tonight are we waitlisted till the summer or will we be considered at the next meeting?

I saw people mention a waitlist, but I don't remember that in my interview and thought we were just considered at every subsequent meeting?

Just got in!!!!! I interviewed on 10/29 - 10/30 for MD and MD/MPH.

I am so so so excited. Def one of my top three choices!!!!

To everyone waiting, I know how you feel... I've been on three waitlists and was really thinking I wasn't gnna get in anywhere. As Soon as i relaxed and stopped stressing, it happened! Everyone just try to have patience and don't start worrying till may when the waitlist action starts. Once you are done your interviews you've done everything you can do so try to just focus on life and things will work out the way they should.

Congrats to all who got in and to everyone waiting, it is still so early and tons of ppl get off waitlists!
 
Has anyone heard any waitlist information yet from the decisions yesterday? I thought they said they would send an email informing us that we have been waitlisted, etc...
 
Accepted!!! Extremely Pumped!!!!!!!!! Anybody know what we have to do to hold our spot in the class? Just got the acceptance email this morning but am not sure if I need to reply via email now or wait until I get the packet in the mail/figure it out then. Don't wanna do this wrong!!!!

Congratulations to all the acceptances! You can reply by email now if you want, that's what I did. The packet says you have to reply within two weeks of your acceptance but it took me about a week and a half after I was accepted to get the packet so waiting isn't really necessary.
 
For those of us still hoping for II's, is there any way to check your status with UM? I haven't found much online or through the secondary app instructions. Do LOI's tend to help? OOS, submitted secondary on Oct. 3rd. Thank you!

The only way to check your status is to call the office of admissions, between 2-5PM during the week. If you look through this thread, I posted the details and the number earlier (early to mid August?). When you call to check your status, you may want to ask the admissions rep what their stance is on LOIs. Good luck!

I got mine yeaterday. I interviewed on Oct 15th. Maybe they didn't get to your app yet.
 
I applied to the MD/PhD program but I haven't heard anything. I was complete in late July/early August.

Would it be okay to call/email for an update or to send a letter of intent?
 
No, they do not accept AP physics credit. I called Admissions to confirm and was told I would have to take physics in college to apply, even with a 5 on the AP exam.
 
How far in advance should one start looking for apartments/condos in the Miami beach area (to move in during July and start classes in August)? I'm assuming March or April, but maybe that's still to early?

My brother is a UM undergrad who lives in Brickell on the River, and I think he found his apartment in July and signed his lease in August. So basically, you have plenty of time to wait.

Thanks. In my undergraduate town we had to book apartments 8-10 months in advance, but I assumed it'd be different in Miami. Guess I'll be waiting to summer to find a place...

Got the call yesterday and I was accepted!!! So thrilled, I go to Miami for undergrad and the medical school is wonderful!

Reason I'm writing this is also because I interviewed on October 12th. I was told I would hear back on 10/31 and heard NOTHING the day of. No acceptance phone call, no wait-list email the next day, and no paper rejection. I assumed my paper rejection was in transit/got lost in the mail and basically gave up hope after mourning over the silent rejection.

I didn't even pick up the phone yesterday bc I was in class and had completely given up on Miami/forgotten that they do acceptances on Wednesdays at 5. I was completely shocked when I heard the voicemail and called back to find out I had been accepted!! So don't give up hope! If you haven't heard for a month and a half after your interview, you may just be on that list and you can move into the top 10 or whatever it is at any time. Miami does things differently.

Good luck to all of you! I know the positions a lot of you are in, until the first week of November all I had in my pocket were 4 waitlists and what I thought was a silent rejection at Miami. I got into USF Med the first week of Nov. and into Miller yesterday, so things move at their own pace and are diferent for everyone! We all deserve this and we will get to where we need to go. It's not a matter of it, it's a matter of when. Congrats and good luck to all of y'all!
 
Accepted yesterday via email (sent at 5.54pm) to the MD/MPH program. I'm so excited!! This school is my top choice.

I'm OOS and interviewed on 10/29-10/30.

There will be a facebook group that all accepted students will be added to by the end of December.

So whats Miller's deal on interview invites? Is there a set day every week or two they send them out? Are they still coming out? Do they normally take forever?

I was complete probably mid october. Was hoping I would have heard back by now.
