Yay, received a II today for the md/phd program. Unfortunately I'll have to wait since the interview has to be Dec 7th, but happy the invite came,
 
Getting a little nervous for my upcoming interview. I hope I get a nice interviewer and an early interview time slot, so I won't be all sweaty from walking around on the tour.

Can someone who interviewed comment about the interview format? Also, do we need to bring any additional materials to the interview such as a 2x2 pic? thanks!

One interview, around 1 hour open file and you don't have to bring anything. The picture was supposed to be emailed to them.

Congrats on your acceptance. Im interviewing on Monday. I think you posted some comments about your experience. But do you have any specific advice? Thanks in advance!

How did you like the school? Someone recently told me they were unimpressed when they interviewed, which is shocking!
 
Does anyone know when the next committee meeting is? Based on last year's dates they meet every two weeks on Wednesdays so the next meeting could be on 10/31. Can anyone confirm?
 
I didnt get to hear Dr. Weissman finish up after lunch today. Did he make any mention as to when we should expect decisions?
 
Is there any way for us to check our status for Miami? Because the secondary submission process was kind of strange I just assumed there was no way to check status. I'm right... right?

Yeah he did. He said the committee meets on Oct. 31 and every two weeks thereafter (excluding weeks of holidays). I think he said that current students then call accepted applicants at the end of each meeting day (5:00). He said some other stuff about ranking students, but I'm too lazy to type it out right now. I can pm you if you would like to know more about what he said.

Edit: To above, I don't think so. I couldn't find a way, at least. You would probably have to call/email to make sure that you are complete.
 
Anyone complete in mid to late September get an interview invite? This thread seems pretty quiet lately.

Also, does anyone know if Miami is receptive to in the area emails?
 
Dude I've been wondering the same thing. I don't even have status updte. What's your situation wih that and stats? I applied mid September and recently got an email saying tht they e linked my amcas to my secondary and asking for my photo even if I already sent it in before. I didn't get any response about the photo after I sent it in so I don't even know I I'm complete or what. What's your story with them? Everyone else please feel free to share as well. Thanks

I've been complete since mid-September as well and haven't heard a thing since I submitted my secondary. Hoping they will send out some more interview invites soon...

I was complete in mid-July and received my II in late September. So if you were complete in mid-September, there's no reason to panic yet.

I was complete mid to late September (confirmed by calling them) but haven't heard anything since. I assume they haven't gotten to our complete dates just yet. I guess no news is good news in general :laugh:

Ugh I know.... I'm scared. I was complete early October. UM is my absolute first choice!
 
Update sent with mid term grades and a few zingers that express my continued interest. I am hoping to stir them up a bit and get them to look over my forgotten application again.
 
Haven't heard a peep from the school since I submitted my secondary/emailed my picture in July. Hopefully I was at least complete.... probably just passed over my application 🙁
 
Sorry its just so i didn't have to find the specific school forum on my phone every time but could just go to my participated forums
 
When you edit your post you can't delete it completely so a lot of people just change it to a "."

I'm aware but this guy didn't edit any of his posts.
 
Got an email from Miami and I got excited.
Then I saw that it was just saying how they had changed the location of the interview day... and I had already interviewed there. :annoyed:

Haha same. Took me a good 5 minutes to figure out that it was a completely pointless e-mail. BTW do you think you could send me that info about ranked applicants?

Yeah they moved it to the first floor of the Rosenstiel building in a much nicer suite than the offices that were on the second floor. It is funny that they also sent you an email even though you've already done your interview. When you interviewed, was it on the second floor?

Orientation was on the sixth floor of the Clinical Research Building. I do think that the actual interviews were on the second floor (of that same building).
