congrats! are you planning on attending mizzou?
Mizzou is definitely high on my list. I really enjoyed my interview day but I'm lucky enough to have some options so we will see how I feel after second look.

This is not meant to offend anyone nor directed at anyone and please forgive me if it comes off that way but I highly doubt Mizzou will offer an acceptance without a 3.7-3.8+ G.P.A. and 30+ MCAT, stellar extracurricular activities combined with a great interview day. Please correct me if I'm wrong but this is the general impression I've developed after noticing the people who've been accepted prior to final decision in March.

Not true. I personally know several of my classmates that have 27-28 MCATs. We want to get to know you as a person, it's not just the numbers! 🙂

Also congrats Sea Otter! We'll do our best to convince you on second look day heh. 😀

I feel like a total idiot. I mean't prior to March, the chances are low with a little lower numbers.

thats usually the general idea of why you want a higher score haha...its like that everywhere, the better your scores the better chance of getting in

Lol. I know... I'm going to stop before I dig myself into even a bigger hole. Ignore my comment please! :smack:

Apparently final decisions aren't coming out until March 22nd now because of the snow day 🙁

That sucks. I suppose it's only two days later than the original schedule ya? We'll get through it. Let's just hope we get some good news lol

Well the original schedule and their website say March 15th as the original date

So, just a week more. Okay still not bad I guess. I'm just praying that us SNDers hear the good news even after this agonizing wait!

Is this according to the admissions office?

From someone who interviewed recently, so I guess it is possible they were mistaken (but they seemed pretty confident).

Anyone know how much financial aid there is typically for OOS students?

To be honest, I would be surprised if final decisions came out on the 22nd, since Second Look Day is the 23rd, and there's a dinner on the 22nd.

Second Look is now limited to those that have already been admitted, unfortunately (according to the admissions office).

I'm pretty sure it always has been...why would people make the trip up there if they didn't know if they'd be accepted or not?

I meant admitted as of right now, before the final decision notice on March 22nd.

Website has been updated, it now says March 22nd is final decisions.

Wow. That's great. He obviously kicked ass with his GPA, and he must have done well in other areas as well. When was his interview? And congratulations to you as well. Must be a great feeling to know that you're both headed off to med school, and not too far away from one another.

Interviewed in December, yea good research papers, good extras good luck everyone! it happens!

Huh, that is really weird that they would release just his decision if he interviewed back in December. Regardless, that is awesome for him, tell him congratulations! 🙂

congrats to you and your boyfriend. does anyone know if final decisions will be emailed sometime BY march 22 since someone found out today? or if everyone else will find out ON the 22nd?

i can't wait any longer. the suspense is killing me, and i'm losing hope! :scared:

I was told we would all find out ON March 22nd, thats why I was confused. Only one more week though! :scared:

alright, i just called the admissions office. (i know i'm going crazy as i'm sure many other stalking this forum are too!!) i was just told all decisions would be ON march 22nd, so i guess someone got really lucky AND i don't have to be refreshing my email all night.

*sigh* this is going to be the longest week of my life!

ya thats what we thought too once they updated the MU website. he was "unchanged" status for the last two months. What a pleasant surprise we got this morning!

EDIT: he actually got the emails on Wed. but was so disheartened because he didnt think he would find out until march 22nd, he checked his email for the first time in 2 days this morning. SO it was 3/13 at 9am

I was also surprised by the fact that a person on the wait list for 2 months would get accepted out of the blue 1.5 weeks before the date of final decisions, so I called the admissions office. I verified March 22nd as the correct day to expect an update, and asked if they could tell me how many spots had yet to be filled in the class of 96. I was told that 92 people had already been accepted. If that's true, I would have expected more chatter on here recently, but it kinda sunk my hopes for anything but wait list status come the 22nd...

I guess the "a handful of acceptances (5?) per month, more in February, and then a whole bunch at the end of March" idea I'd been hearing was a bit off.

Please feel free to call and confirm, either that the number I heard is correct or that my hearing is awful.

I guess my understanding was that there was about 30 spots still open 🙁 what horrible news.

Was anybody able to confirm the 92 number before the office closed today?

Mine too. That was devastating.

I'm sorry if I upset you guys! This wait has been so agonizing for us and I always really appreciated it when people updated this thread with news so I thought I'd fill you guys in on our good news....we weren't expecting this at all like you all we were waiting for next week! I can't believe 92 spots are filled... That's almost hard to believe.

thats extremely hard to believe that 92 acceptances have already been given out. that means they had to accept about 60 people in february, and if that was the case then I am sure this page would have been blowing up...but i guess it could also be true because theyre leaving the final 4 spots to the people who interviewed in march or whatever. this is really devastating...🙁

on my interview day, i had the understanding that a little less than half the spots were filled end of march so when i heard they were accepting about 30 at the end of february, i too did the math and figured about 30ish spots were left.

and now we're down to 4? has anyone confirmed? what terrible and extremely disappointing news!

I might be just trying to make myself feel better at this point but maybe they meant that 92 DECISIONS had been made. In other words, they have made a decision on 92 students but not necessarily given out the acceptances yet other than the ones till the end of February. So, there might still be 30 or so acceptances at the end of next week.

I was thinking (read: HOPING) that was what she meant. Maybe someone else can confirm on Monday. I really, really want to be wrong on this one.

the silver lining in all this is that (if this is true) theyve given out 92 acceptances. Doesn't mean they will all be going there. I hoping that it doesnt mean 92 spots are already filled...because most students havent made decisions yet. last year they accepted a total number of 155+ (so they went pretty far down the waitlist line)...hopefully they havent given out 92 acceptances yet and are waiting to give them out on march 22nd. fingers crossed!

Honestly, the best thing to do is wait. I know it is frustrating at this point, especially for those of us who haven't heard much of anything yet, but stressing out isn't going to make the days pass faster, nor will it change what has presumably already been decided for each of us.

Even if they have given out 92 acceptances, the top 1/3 of the waitlist will almost definitely see movement. Probably even the middle 1/3, based on previous years.

the only problem with that is that i have to get on the waitlist first haha...

I am just getting into the mindset that on March 22nd I'll find out if I made it on the waiting list or not. If I find out that I'm accepted, then 👍; if on the waitlist, okay; if rejected, rage quit! lol

For what it's worth, the C/O 2017 Facebook group has 35 members right now. Assuming that most people have facebook and have joined the group, there're probably around 35-40 spots filled right now. Perhaps the 92 include people who had been accepted way back and have turned it down by now.
