I think that they just said that it would be the last Friday of the month, which would make it this Friday.

I would love to get in now, but I'd be thrilled with a spot on the wait-list. Just hoping to avoid rejection.

Edit: Hit reply instead of quote. I am replying to Dr. Who.

Sounds good, and at worst you will get a "hold" email, which with Mizzou isn't quite the same as a wait list (which is made in March).

I'm in the same boat as all of you...just trying to avoid rejection. 🙂 Do they reject anyone before March?

I was told that they wait until March to reject people, but there is some conflicting information about that. In the handouts it says each month can be accept/reject/hold but in the meetings we were told that no one is rejected until March.

Might be delayed because of winter break 🙁

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Oh well, probably would have just been another hold anyway. One thing I have noticed from old threads though is that the "final decision" email seems to have historically always come out on the second friday of March. The way the days fall this year, the second Friday is March 8th! Think they would release decisions that early?

Really? It's not today? I interviewed this month and they said the last friday of the month...which is today.

Dunno. The last two months the email had already come by this time of day.

Oops. Sorry everyone. I don't know what I was thinking. I also got the "Status unchanged" email. Ah well. I apologize for worrying people!

NM just got it. Unchanged.

Unchanged here as well. Even though it was expected it still sucks each time.

Anyone else think it's lame that they close your file after interview? What if I want to send a letter of intent post-interview (I don't, but what if!). 🙁

I think it's kind of a relief to know that there's nothing you or anyone else can do at this point. What's done is done.

I guess I would've preferred if they had informed us of that policy before the interview day.. That way I could've sent a grade update/activities update in.

Accepted yesterday! Would have responded earlier but my phone wasn't on me. Good luck to other applicants in the next round!

Congrats! Did you interview this month or were you from an earlier batch?

Edit: Nevermind.
Interview Attended: 10/9/2012

Anyone else think that they will just skip February status updates and send out the final notice in March?

I have an interview tomorrow, and just realized that I never got a confirmation email after I replied to them with my confirmation. Last year I got a "thank you for confirming your interview email." So uh.... did everyone else get this email after replying??? Now i'm scared I'll show up and I won't have an interview.

I got one. I think you'll be fine though. Not a lot of people interview at the same time so they can probably just squeeze you in if there's a conflict on their end.

I got an email listing the potential time and was asked to confirm. I sent an email saying that time worked and received a followup confirmation email with basically the same info in it. That being said, I really wouldn't worry too much about it, I am sure you are fine. You could always call tomorrow morning to double check. Have you checked your spam folder?

Thanks. I have to leave by 6:30 or 7 tomorrow morning, so I'll just have to call on the way and hope for the best.

Best of luck! Let us know what they say in regards to February/Final decision release dates.

Hello, congrats to anyone that has been accepted! I'm currently a third year here and will have a room opening up at my apartment next year. Rent is around $450/month depending on utilities. We're about a 5-10 minute drive from campus. If you're looking for a place to live next year and would like some more information feel free to send me a private message or email me at [email protected].

At my interview today they said they'd send out 1 (possibly 2) more status update(s) before the final decisions in march.

The admissions lady said something very interesting, that the difference in points between the highest and lowest candidates (just those accepted, I believe) was only ~.8 points out of 25. Acceptances seem more luck than anything.

Wow that's odd, I wonder when we should expect them then? Obviously the last week of February but I feel like there would only ever be 1 in March (the final). When could the (possible) second one be? Mid February?

When was the last update they sent?

I wonder if its possible to call them periodically and inquire about future updates, I really like knowing when to expect an email.

Hats pretty cool.

I just got the email yesterday and will be coming in for an early Feb interview. Anyone else coming in for these last few weeks of interviews?

Can anyone comment on if they found out their interviewers before their slot? Can we ask admissions for this info?

Also - is there a place to put coats and such after you arrive? I just went to Chicago last week and one of the schools seemed surprised when I asked where I could put my coat. Er, it's 15 degrees outside, I didn't arrive in just a suit. Strange...

I am not sure if you can ask before you arrive, but you will find out their names when you sign in (you get an itinerary with their names on it). And from what I can remember, yes, they have a coat stand 🙂 . Are you in-state?

Thanks for the coat stand info...that's weird, right? 🙂

Yes...there's a coat rack in the office.

Actually, I talked with the admissions' staff before I left. You don't get to know your interviewers for the sake of people who don't go to Mizzou. They don't want Mizzou-goers having any advantage.

I interview there next week could anyone run me through what their interviews are like, what kind of stuff they seem to highlight?

If not tell me could you give me a rough estimate of a page where this question has been answered previously.

It's open file. Everyone will likely have a different interview.

Yup - I'm in state, and very excited. I have had several friends rave about the MU curriculum while they were students there. Looking forward to having my chance at a spot!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

It's pretty chill tbh. The hardest part is thinking of conversation while you walk to and from their office.

Hello,

I interviewed a while back on December 17 (Monday) and got accepted on December 21 (Friday).

I saw that there were few questions on here that I wish I had known the answer to going in.

-The interview process varies from person to person. But I can say that the interviewers are all very kind and are not out to get you. The biggest advice I can give is: be genuine.

-When you are accepted, you will receive a call personally from Alison Martin. Shortly after, you will receive 2-3 emails congratulating you and also the next steps into accepting your place at Mizzou. Within the next couple weeks, there will be an official letter mailed to you, congratulating you once again. The financial aid packages, according to Cheri Marks, are sent out before the end of April.

Please feel free to ask any other questions.

Also, if anybody is looking for housing options, please let me know. I am looking for a roommate myself. (females only please) I am on a waiting list for 2 places in Columbia, both for 2 bed/2 bath. The total fee is about $750/month + utilities that are split between the two of us. So each person will be paying around $450/month. Please message me for more information.

Good luck to everybody. :luck:
