The year before me had a record low come off the waitlist (only 12 I believe), however my year (c/o 2014) and all of the years since to my knowledge have had quite a bit of movement (30+ waitlist acceptances). If you are really interested in Creighton, I would suggest calling and speaking with Garland Jarmon, who can look into your file and give you advice on ways to strengthen your app to get off the waitlist (more shadowing, take an extra course, etc). Also, send updates!
 
Thanks for the information. Could you clarify - when you state that 30 + waitlist acceptances, does that mean that 30 folks matriculated off the waitlist, or that 30 acceptances were offered to wait listers, and some proportion of those actually matriculated?
 
Can an individual educated on the topic to some extent please give me an idea of how Creighton is perceived as a university, a medical school and as it translates into the professional world, i.e. the perceived quality and success of its graduates post-medical school?
 
Interviewed there a few weeks ago.
Match list has rad onc , derm, Ortho, ENT, plastic etc. between 1-5 matches...

I don't think you'll have trouble matching if you put in the work.

So then what does this say about the school of medicine at Creighton? I'm in the process of trying to make sense of as much as I can. I was given the impression that it is actually a pretty good school and well respected despite its ~80th ranking for research and primary care (and maybe I'm still naive in thinking that this matters to any appreciable extent) and average of ~224 for step 1.

And when you say "put in work," you mean just like you would at any school, right?

anyone accepted with CC credits? I have some and msar says creighton frowns upon them... interested in knowing if possible to get an acceptance with CC before I apply next cycle

I checked again later that night and my letters were back. Now all the interview related things are gone and it's back to the secondary stuff. Received no notifications the next day (Friday). So...slightly worried (understatement). I keep telling myself not to get worked up over letters appearing and disappearing...especially since its still before the 4-8 week timeline they gave us. But that's not really working haha. Stressful process is stressful.🤔
I'll probably call on Monday and see if I can get some more info though

that's what happened to me. my letters disappeared then reappeared and it was silence for a week until i got the waitlist letter in the snail mail. but maybe they just didn't get a chance to e-mail or call you last week. you should call them and find out, they probably made a decision

Same thing happened to me: Letters gone; Letters reappeared; Waitlisted!
 
Ugh...waitlisted. Can't believe it. I thought they liked something since I was offered a II within 5 days of being complete
Must've been my weird interview experience 🙁

Anyone accepted receive any more information from Creighton? I see a couple "to do" items on the secondary portal but haven't heard anything about them (health screenings, scholarship apps and such).

Was accepted last Thursday 12/5 (1st acceptance) after 4 weeks of review.
I'm still waiting on the acceptance packet in the mail. Is there a way to accept via the online portal?

Only thing that updated in the online portal is the diversity scholarship information.
 
Did you receive an email or did you call the office of admissions?

Congrats on the acceptance! Hopefully I'll be as fortunate. I interviewed 11/22

I interviewed the 11.22 as well. I talked to my student host and another friend that are on the adcom and they said they doubt we will hear a decision before january. But I am always up for an early surprise around Christmas time!

Email for me but there's no option to accept it in the online portal..so I'm waiting for acceptance packet.

Did either your student host or friend indicate how important the interview is? Did they happen to mention the most important aspects the admissions committee looks at when they sit down and decide whether to accept/waitlist students.

I didn't ask. I just wanted to know when we would hear back. I figure the interview is over and no point looking back, just forward.

I interviewed the same day as you and was accepted too! I think we just have to wait for the packet in the mail.

This is my third time applying and first acceptance so I'm pretty excited! did not expect to like Creighton as much as I did.

Were your letters of Rec removed from the online portal when you got your acceptance email? I interviewed 11/9 and am thinking I should be hearing very soon!

I'm not sure if my letters were removed at one point but they are up now with the acceptance notification.

I have an above average undergraduate and graduate GPA and an average MCAT. Good luck to both of you!
 
Got a "Merry Christmas" card from Creighton the other day, a small gesture but it was appreciated 🙂

I'm wondering the same thing. I've been accepted to Creighton and Indiana University and it's hard to know which school to go to. It doesn't seem like Creighton gets a lot of funding for research which concerns me but I liked the school a lot. Anyone have any advice.
 
Hey guys, I'm an OOS applicant, complete on 9/13, MCAT 32-35, and GPA 3.6-3.8. My status on secondary website is still "ready to be reviewed", is this normal? Have I been screened out already?

I submitted 9/22 and mine says "...application is complete and ready to be reviewed for interview purposes." This is what it has said pretty much since I was complete.

Are you OOS? It's been three months since our complete dates. I feel like the committee must have looked at our apps at least. Maybe we are in the undecided group? Then again, I don't think I've seen any pre-interview rejection from Creighton here. Uhhh this is driving me nuts!

yeah I am OOS. and AMEN!! I feel like Creighton is a school that I fit really well not only stats-wise and I can only hope that they are on a slower time line due to the AMCAS backup.
 
I'm in-state, complete in late October, and mine still says the same thing too. (3.89GPA, 29 MCAT)
 
I am OOS, 3.7, and MCAT 29, good ECs and LORs. Applying next cycle, but what are the chances I get an interview here?
 
Is there anything to the letters being removed pre-interview?

Good! Just make sure you have lots of non-medical volunteering! Creighton is big on service for the sake of service. I had similar stats as you and got an interview.
