On hold. Complete 7/18. I am holding out for an II though because I have seen some people here who went to on hold shortly before an II.

I was complete 7/18 but still have the original status. I guess this is a chance to somewhat test the theories.
 
I'm still confused by the fact that I was complete before some people posting that they received an II or were put on hold. I thought by this point my status would change to one or the other. Any thoughts? Is this happening to others?
 
Same boat as a lot of y'all, complete on 7/16 and still have the "complete" status, no changes at all. I was starting to think it was a good sign that I hadn't been put on hold yet, but now I'm thinking it doesn't really mean anything necessarily

I don't know - I was complete for about 2 weeks before being put on hold. Just wait and see.
 
Interview 9/26! I might need to reschedule though. I hope that doesn't look bad...
 
My first II for 9/26!!! I was complete 7/15, I don't think I was ever put on hold. I did send a quick update letter detailing the fact that I had further raised my GPA and had submitted a research manuscript to a journal. 3.65cGPA, 3.5sGPA, 34 MCAT. Is anyone else going 9/26?

II: 7/31

Stats: OOS, cGPA: 3.7+, MCAT: 31-34

2 years research w/ only abstracts
Clinical volunteering: 300+
Non-clinical volunteering: 200+

Just so you know, II is interview invite, not secondary.

But congrats!!

I got an II this morning for 9/24!
Complete 7/14
Put on hold 7/17
Status Changed to complete again on 7/28
II 8/1

So moral of the story you can be on hold for a while and still get an II
 
Boo, just put on hold today after a couple weeks marked complete, 🙁.

Just to point it out, today is 7/31...
 
Complete 7/16 and put on hold as of today... Definitely disappointing but seeing as people are getting interviews after being put on hold for not very long, I'm trying to stay optimistic!
 
II today: 8/1/13 at 3pm for Sept 27th!

My first one, what a relief!
 
Does anyone have a better idea of GW's Interview Day schedule? I wish they had posted a more thorough agenda.

All I know is it is from 9 - 3 pm! Guess we will see 🙂
 
Time will tell! It's my first one (9/5) so I'm extra anxious :scared:
 
I would love an interview from here! I'm starting to feel impatient now that secondaries are pretty much done (which I know is ridiculous because it's only August 1st, there's a lot more waiting to go)
 
II at Georgetown for first week of September; think it'd be worthwhile to send an in-the-area email here? (Currently on hold, numbers around MSAR-listed 90th percentile for GW)

I don't know how an in-the-area email would look at this point in the cycle; hope it's not too pushy, since I also just sent an update a few days ago.

What's the difference between on hold and complete? Is one better than the other?
I was complete on 7/23 but my status is still that my file is complete.

I have been complete since 7/16 at GW, and also have a II at Georgetown first week of Sept. When you guys send an in-the-area email, do you send it using the "update" feature on the secondary website? Or a real email directly to the admissions office?
 
I am happy I am on hold. At least they are considering me my MCAT score leaves much to be desired but the rest of my app is stellar.

From my understanding, if your status says complete they most likely have not reviewed your application yet. If you are placed on hold, it means that they have reviewed your application and have decided not to grant you an interview invite right now but may review your application again later on down the road (could be in a few days or a few months).
 
It doesn't seem like GW is reviewing these apps in order they received them. I was complete 7/16 and still no status update, whereas people after me already got updates
 
So do you guys receive an email when your status changes?

I met with admissions staff last semester because I'm a GW undergrad, and if I remember correctly it's a morning tour, lunch with students, and after lunch you have two one on one interviews. One is with a student, and then another is with a faculty member or admissions staff. I'm blanking on whether or not it is open or closed file
 
It's closed file according to the II email
 
Just booked my flight literally across the country lol, out of Los Angeles, for the interview invite sept 5th. Excited!! Unfortunately i wont have time to hang out or sight see. I fly in late on the 4th and fly out directly after the interview. 🙁
