I completed the secondary July 5th. However, AMCAS application was not verified until like the 13th. I am assuming GWU got it that same day or a few days after. So It took anywhere from 7-10 days post verification. Hope everything works out for you guys as well. Good luck! 🙂
 
Hey guys, for the most significant contribution outside the classroom, is it appropriate to talk about research, even if you received class credit for it or did an honors thesis?

I don't see why that should be a problem. Research is still research, even if you used it for course credit. Just my 2 cents.
 
Missing the interview invites : ( it was so exciting for awhile there

I went on hold for about a day, then came off and received an invite a day or so later.

I don't believe I was ever on hold; I received notification that my application was being reviewed last night and got the invite this morning. Stats: 3.6 science/3.8 cumulative/34 MCAT. Pretty extensive ECs, good LORs, GWU is definitely one of my top choices!

Yea, same. My status went from being "reviewed" to getting an II.

I don't think I was on hold before receiving an II.. I checked everyday but there is a chance that I was on hold but only for a little while
 
I just got the "Application Complete" email yesterday, like less than 24 hours between that and an interview.
 
I've been complete since the 7/16, but my status still says:

"Your file is now complete. At this point we have received all the necessary credentials including your secondary application and your letters of recommendation in order for your application to be reviewed. While the committee does its best to review applications in a timely manner, please be aware that in order to do a thorough review of your file it may be several weeks until you hear from us again. We greatly appreciate your patience during the application process. Please feel free to update your file during this time using the GW Admissions Portal."

Anyone else in the same boat? This would make me think they haven't even looked at my app yet, or is that naive and I'm on hold?
 
Did everyone get some sort of notification when their application was under review? I submitted on the 12th and I'm still marked as complete.

I might have just not checked enough to see it.. but I don't think mine ever went through an "under-review" period on my page
 
Had hoped I'd be more competitive here than it seems I am.

I have been complete since 7/18 but I never got an email saying I was. the same thing has been posted on my login since then.

Has anyone actually received an outright rejection? Maybe the wrong place to ask this question, but it seems like everyone who is complete is either on hold for re-review or being interviewed.

Doesn't seem to be any rejections, but people on hold have eventually gotten interviews. When were you complete? I'm waiting to be reviewed.

It almost sounds like you mean "everyone on hold gets interviews eventually."

Sorry, that was ambiguous. I meant to say some people originally placed on hold have eventually gotten interviews, though I assume most have not.

Mine took 11 days to go from complete to interview invite, no hold in between.
 
My application status changed to on hold sometime in the past few days.

I know this doesn't knock me out of the game entirely, but still feeling a little bummed about it.

I got my II 8 days after submitting the secondary (and being complete). My stats are cGPA 3.89 sGPA 3.87 MCAT 32. I was quite surprised that I got one given how many applicants they get, but in retrospect I think that GW's secondary was one of my better ones. I have a lot of experiences that coincide with what they try to emphasis so I took the time to integrate them in my "Why GW?" essay.

Has anyone's status said explicitly that they were "on hold" or have we just been assuming that if you were complete a while ago and still have the "application complete" status, you're on hold?

Are we assuming this now? I was verified 7/17 so I assume Iw as complete shortly thereafter and I still dont have an interview. Its probably been like 5-7 business days that my status has been complete.
 
Is anyone here familiar with GWU's track program? It sounds wonderful. Does anyone know if it is something that is optional or all students are involved in the track program? Has anyone spoken to admissions if they had questions about the school? Did you find them to be helpful? I would really like to learn more about GWU before I complete my secondary.

I know GWU had their probation lifted a few years ago from the LCME, but is there still drama over there? Can any current students weigh in on this?
 
I have been driving 5+ years without a single traffic ticket.

Now parking tickets from my university's security office, well that's another story.
 
I've had the complete status since 7/18, anyone know if that's good or if they likely just haven't looked me over yet?
 
Just to let everyone know I was put on hold before being offered an interview. If you end up getting put on hold it may not be such a bad thing.
 
I was complete for over 2 weeks before my status changed from complete to on hold...yes, it is two different messages. The time between when you are marked complete and when you either get an interview or get put on hold will probably only get longer...that said, its only july so everyone is still very early. I doubt that very many people who get put on hold eventually get an interview--just my pessimistic opinion.
