Does GW send out emails for status changes or did you guys just log on to check?
I assume you mean Georgetown and not GW, but yes they send status change emails.

If you had to guess... What is the latest interview date that will be included in the first batch of acceptances?
For those who interviewed at the way beginning of September...
We were told that if we do not hear back by Oct 22, we should call, right?
Hey i remember the tour guides talking about the average USMLE Step 1 scores but I forgot what they were, anyone remember?
I interviewed the first week of September and was told around the 15th as well. No mention of calling but Director Campbell said check your spam folder for the status change.
👍 +1
I was in the first round of interviews and I was told it would be sometime this week.
However looking on last years thread they didn't start hearng back until like the 23rd.
my personal guess would be that we're going to be told on Monday Oct 21st. I really hope I'm wrong and it's sooner though.
Since MSAR says October 18 for earliest acceptance notice, I'll be optimistic and say tonight at 12 am EST. 🙂
What was the earliest interview date here? I am trying to gauge how far away from the start my 9/18 session was.
Do you mean they interviewed only 80 applicants between the last week of August and the first week of October?I know there were some in the last week or so of August...
I interviewed in the beginning of October. They told us we were in a pool of about 80 applicants and to expect to hear back by mid-end of November at the latest.

Seems to me that's not with the first cut, then. For one, there were ~10-12 students on my interview day. Also, they told us to call if we didn't hear back by a specific date, and that was definitely before the end of October.
Wow! Great info! Do you know how many days a week they interview? My interview date/the first interview date was 8/29
They told us that they process 80 applications at a time
~20 are rejected
~40 are waitlisted
~20 are accepted

When I scheduled my interview there seemed to be at least 2-3 interviews days per week.
I recall that information about reviewing 80 at a time as well, but they didn't tell my group the breakdown of acceptance, wait list, and rejection. It sounded to me like applicants get reviewed in chronological slices or portions of 80.
Thanks for replying back msquaredb. I wasn't sure if it was 2 or 3 times per week. Just trying to gauge if I would be in the first group of 80 applicants being considered. What I remember is that they review 100 at a time, accept 20, waitlist 40, reject 40.
But I might be completely off about that and it might be 20/40/20.
These numbers are intimidating. I interview here very soon.
My interview date/the first interview date was 8/29

You're right. This is simply not true since I interviewed on 8/28 and when I was able to pick an interview date 8/27 was an option. I think 8/27 was the first date, but I could be wrong.
You're right.
Thanks for the great post! Do you know how many times Georgetown interviews each week? Just trying to gauge whether I'll be in the first batch of applicants that are considered post-interview. Thanks in advance! You could be right, I was told we were in the first 'batch' of interviews. They definitely could have meant the first week. Though for the sake of argument a one day difference doesn't likely put us in different applicant pools.
I am certain about the 20/40/20 breakdown. I am lucky enough to know someone in the admissions office and know several students from previous years who have echoed this process, also if you check the blogs from last year this is also mirrored. There were plenty of people getting rejected in each pool which the majority were waitlisted.
Hopefully we all hear back soon with good news!

so can you ask your sources what are the chances we will hear anything today? You could be right, I was told we were in the first 'batch' of interviews. O I was never saying you weren't in the first batch! Just that yours was not the first interview day which you previously said.
so can you ask your sources what are the chances we will hear anything today?
That's good to know! I will force myself not to be checking my email every 15 minutes. They told me next week, but again who knows. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
I interviewed on 9/23 and I remember them saying that our group should expect to hear by late November.
For those that interviewed, what hotels did you stay at? Not impressed with Georgetown's hotel rates 🙁
