Honestly, I don't know many details about the old administration. From what I've heard through others, they didn't communicate that well with the MD administration, which led to issues integrating the MD and PhD portions of the degree (e.g. the MSTP students got last pick on M3 rotation schedules). Again, this is all secondhand. Now, I know that the administration works much more closely with the MD administration and integration back into M3 (from what I've heard) is no longer an issue. The new administration really is great; they have a whole system set up for when you're in the PhD years to check up on you and guide you through the program. Also, MSTP grand rounds are mandatory for all students in the program regardless of which stage they're in, which I think is really cool!
