2013-2014 Stanford University Application Thread

I wonder what's going on for us---it's getting late for an interview. Still no letter.

I have 2 unanswered emails as of now 🙁 but good to know that silence does not necessarily mean rejection...

I wonder if Stanford is going to bother ever rejecting us T___T May 15 is only 37 days away!
The committee meeting was supposedly today, so hopefully the waiting is almost over. As was already posted, they mentioned on their last interview day that they might be adding another interview date in April - I'd think they decided that today. Here's hoping we all get some closure (...or an II..!) this week.

Does anyone else feel like there was very little information about admit weekend? I heard that I was accepted near the end of March, and since then the only info I've gotten about the admit weekend was an email with the schedule for the weekend that came today. Was I supposed to RSVP somewhere? Should I have a student account or something? Confused!

There was an RSVP email a while back. You could try emailing Director Perez to see if you can still sign up to attend. The student account information is included in your acceptance packet, but you'll have to call the office to get your ID.

Cool, thanks! I actually already set up the student account and everything then apparently had amnesia. I think I probably missed the RSVP email because I was only admitted recently, so I'll get in touch with the admissions office.

You think if we don't get an email by this Friday then it's over?

So for those who have interviewed, it seems rejections/WL are coming in snail mail and we find out acceptances with the phone call?

This isn't exactly helpful, but in the spirit of sharing information - I contacted the admissions director yesterday to ask when I'd get a post-interview decision.

The answer? "Asap." Ohhhh Stanford...

I still haven't heard anything either yet...

What are you guys feeling about the wait list this year? I feel so down about the fact that no one was taken last year but I would love to go here especially now that two of my best friends just got accepted to the mechanical engineering and law program there

I hope Stanford gives us a chance to interview

You'd have to check with the admissions office, but to the best of my knowledge March 27th was the last interview date (it was even added outside the normal schedule). The admissions people have a tendency to keep adding new dates though late in the game, so who knows. Admit weekend starts today...so it is pretty late....

I would say the wait list will move this year. At least more so than last year.

I don't get why you would hold off on rejecting so many people if you weren't holding any more interview dates. Do medical schools frequently silent reject people?

Ooohh why are you predicting more wait list?

The weird thing is that many people have already been rejected pre-interview.....

Does anyone have any updates from Revisit weekend ?

Has anyone received a response to a LOI? I sent one to Mr. Perez last week but never received a response.

I sent an email to see if i am rejected or not. I got under review response yesterday. I dunno when they are going to stop reviewing!

I think they are still reviewing!

I still haven't gotten anything post interview either!

I'm just so confused because I wanted to write a letter to one of my wait lists schools which is my second choice, but I have no idea if I should...

Just got a call from my house address, a waitlist letter has arrived.

emailed them last week, got an application "under review" email.

Ahh
How nice would it be to get an interview invite to Stanford?
And yet I know all too well that it's end of April and the chances of that happening are about 0.00001%.

Stanford! I had closure. I had accepted my fate. Why do this now??

(haven't heard anything btw in case that wasn't clear)

I feel like Stanford probably already sent out all the II for the May 6th date? Don't schools usually send out II in batches rather than individually? Not sure, but that's what I thought?

(Also haven't heard anything since last summer...)
Stanford doesn't invite everyone at the same time. On my interview date, I talked about this with a bunch of people and we had all gotten IIs at different times within the 0-3 weeks prior to the interview. One person (who lived across the country) had even been invited the day before!

My two cents: seriously not cool to misinform nearly every interview group of when they'll be notified of a decision. I give up on you Stanford!

Glad there is still some hope then. May 6th is two weeks away.
