The classes still aren't full. I spoke to some Drew students at a recent conference and they said acceptances will still be handed out until April and early May. Then after May 15th, waitlist movement can happen until June

More like a 4 way tie between all the state schools on my list. They each have a similar community based focus, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Drew since they were the only state school to interview me the last time I applied two years ago.

They can only tell you so much when you give them a call. My hunch is that the class is full or practically full and people come and go off the waitlist as time goes. More movement will occur after the May deadline.

I say you give them a call and ask for yourself! :D and report back to us !

I tend to always get a voice mail when I call the office of student affairs .... any news?? Mid May can't come fast enough!!! Hope there is some movement!
 
I emailed Mr. Corrao to no avail. I spoke with a current Drew student at SNMA this past weekend and she said the class is full, but that many of the accepted students are holding a lot of acceptances. She didn't seem to have much info on when people might come off of the WL.

I have to say I am a little disappointed with how business is run at Drew. I spent $600 just flying all the way out to LA to interview plus the application fees. The least they could do is tell me I was waitlisted or rejected. /rant

If it helps, they told the accepted students that their email system is down at the moment so if you're emailing then yeah, you will not get a response

My last email with them was last week, I was told "There are no updates at the moment".

I do agree that their process is a little wack. Hopefully by the May deadline these guys that are holding all these spots will choose to go elsewhere and let the people who really want to go here to get in. So approximately 24 spots taken up with 100 or so on the waitlist...hmm....

How does the current student know that the class is full? When I spoke with someone at admissions they said they couldn't comment and the time line has changed year to year.

Idunno, but the Drew family is super tight so I can imagine that they would tell their own students if the class was full if they asked. She seemed pretty confident about it.

Assuming we all made the waitlist then it's more like 250 people on it no? haha

If I remember correctly from the last time I applied, there was no formal waitlist notification given. Everyone that interviewed that wasn't accepted outright would still be in the running to be accepted up until orientation started. Seems to be that way with both Drew and Geffen, which is kinda bonkers to me. At least we still haven't been outright rejected, right?
 
Drew is still extending acceptances. I got the call yesterday!

Does anyone know if any offers have gone out to any Jan. or Feb. interviewees?
 
My acquaintance interviewed late jan or early feb and received an acceptance last thursday
 
Lol, everytime this thread is bumped, I get nervous that its about movement and then I'm sad because it isn't, and even more sad that I haven't been accepted here yet. :(

I want to call but I feel like it's going to be the same answer as always
 
Is there anywhere to get a good sense of average MCAT/GPA for UCLA/Drew acceptance? Seems that MSAR lumps it into the UCLA category.
 
Got the call on Friday! 2 other people I know we're accepted Friday as well.

So, movement is still happening. I was interviewed in January btw.

Hey chulita,

When you received the call, did you receive a follow-up email as well? I am overseas right now, so I am not able to get to my voice message just in case I am fortunate enough to get admitted. I sent an email stating I would be overseas, but I would like to just make sure that a follow-up email will come through also :)

Thank you! Yes, I and the other two are matriculating. It sounded like this last meeting filled the class, but I don't know if the others accepted their place or if this affects waitlist movement. I also don't know if the class is indeed full, just inference from our phone conversation considering it was their last meeting? Last year, two of my friends were accepted pretty late in this process, at least June, so don't give up hope just yet! I gave up my seat at another med school for Drew, so if a Drew student is accepted off of a waitlist at their number 1, movement will happen. It's so unpredictable :sorry:

I was actually at work and missed the first two calls, but caught the third. Later I checked my email and saw one saying they had attempted to contact me and to please call them back. After the phone convo, I also received a follow up email. Hope this helps!
 
Just spoke with admissions. The class has been filled.
