Me 2, i just submitted my secondary, and try to log back in and the website says Page not found: The requested page could not be found. It is making me question if I had submitted my secondary or not.. Also, when I clicked submit, it didn't even ask me to pay for the secondary fee....🙄😕 and i don't have fee waiver....
 
still no secondary from this school.. does this mean I got screened out? I am OOS but I would like to think my 3.6/34 are not too low to even get a secondary..I've been verified since 6/28 and I received an email on 7/1 saying "a decision to send you a secondary will be made shortly."

i got it fixed. i sent the admissions email account an email explaining the problem and the next day i was told IT fixed it. if you are still having the same problem i would do that too.

It's not all about stats!!!! Medical schools don't want robots. The can easily detect them. Now you might say, " I have volunteered" and that other crap. They can still see through that even if you have volunteered.

Better luck next time.

SAME and I'm IS. This is frustrating.
 
Does anyone know if you can list having had a surgery as a clinical experience for secondary purposes? ..it was certainly impressionable but I'm not sure if it is what they had in mind.
 
My Status:

"Your application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. At this time, a final decision has not been reached on your application"

I can't say for sure, but it seems like a bit of stretch. I think they're looking more for something you did in a clinic setting (volunteering at a health clinic, hospital, etc.). Talking about a surgery here might make the admissions committee think that you're trying to downplay your lack of clinical experience.
 
Thanks. I have others but feel a little uncomfortable not including it since it was so significant. I better play it safe though.

Does anyone know if U of Miami asks about misdemeanor convictions on their secondary? I have an expunged "drunk in public" from nearly a decade ago that I didn't have to disclose on the primary, and I would rather not have to mention it in a secondary. 🙁 Thanks!
 
Is this school really big on clinical experience? I have some but not THAT much clinical experience. The one that motivated me the most was used in my PS....can I reuse that for this secondary?

If this school is very big on clinical experience, I might not apply 🙁 Only had 170 hours of clinical/hospital volunteer experiences

I wrote about singing Kentucky bluegrass karaoke, I'm not even joking. I think once I got to the "hobbies" essay at like 2:00am my brain cracked a bit. There's some normal stuff in there too, but... still, karaoke.
 
if i just realized i made an error in the prerequisites section, should i email them?
 
OOS Interested in applying here. Can any current students comment on any unique or favorable/unfavorable aspects of the curriculum?
 
Would being a teacher assistant count as participating in a student organization? I don't know if this would be a stretch considering teaching/student assistants are technically functioning as members of the administration. Though they are working with students?
 
how many words did you guys seem to use on the required essays? Close to 500? On these essays, I actually feel like I need all the words I can get. Anyone else feel the same?
 
Secondary today 😀 !! Thought it was kind of strange since I've been verified since late June and this school has always been on my list #shrugs

Just got the secondary. Been complete since 6/27.

Question:
For the MCAT highest composite does that mean sum up the highest in each section for retakes?
First try 11/7/13
Second try 13/8/12
Composite: 13/8/13???

I think it means the highest score you received on the test so...13/8/12, that's my interpretation of the question.

I wish, haha. Highest composite just means the highest score you received out of all your retakes; they don't break it up by section as far as I know. In your example, the second try (composite = 33) would be the one that counts.
 
Already wrote about my four year involvement with a varsity collegiate sport as a most meaningful AMCAS experience... wouldn't it be kind of silly to write about it again?

Just received the secondary today (finally!)..

I have to say though, this secondary makes Case Western's look like a joke. Omg, I count 9 essays.. 9!! :scared:

These essays are just asking you to rehash information that is already on your primary, but you're not allowed to reuse info. What sense does that make?
 
Does UM give any preference to Alums? I doubt it, but it'd be real great if they did.

I am an undergrad at UM and remember seeing somewhere on the Pre-Health committee site that they took 60 UM grads a few years ago. I hope that trend continues, lol
 
MSAR confirms, a very large number of students come from UM.
 
Hmmm now I have a new status:

"The review and scoring of your application to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine had been completed by the Admissions Committee. Your application is currently under consideration and further evaluation by the Committee for an interview."

Guess it's time for that long dreadful waiting period :/

This is directly from their website and echoes what a couple people already said:

How does UM Miller arrive at a combined MCAT Score (Verbal Resoning + Biological Sciences + Physical Sciences)?
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine will use your highest combined score from a single date that you took the MCAT examination. This is also referred to as a single series.

Hey guy simple question but how did yall exactly fill out the prereqs section. Based on the instructions, I see that I just need to put the date, institution, and grade in that format. Did yall also include the course numbers from your school (or name of the course) as well?

Was going to ask the same question. Also, if labs were counted as separate classes, not sure if we just leave those out since there's only 3 spaces (and normally it was 1 lab per class, so a total of 4 classes and labs for each 'subject'). It doesn't say anything about putting the course numbers or names so I'm guessing we don't need to. Anyone else who's submitted it already?
