anyone else just get the email apologizing for the delay in application processing? almost had a heart attack because it read like a rejection email haha.

But really, did anyone else get this email this weekend?
 
Admissions says they do have a program but it's not available at the time, and it's student-run, so they are unsure of when a hosting list will be released.

I have not - looks like they think it's not a big deal to have mine application delayed. 😉

Complete 7/30 also and did not receive the email
 
I was complete 7/10- here's the email:

It has been a few weeks since we sent you a notice indicating that your application was complete and had been referred to our Committee on Admissions for review. While our Committee is accustomed to reviewing a very large volume of applications, this year we have seen an unprecedented number of applications that have been completed early in the cycle. It appears that we will be able to interview only about 10% of our applicants this year, so these reviews are quite challenging. As a result, we are running several weeks behind.

I regret the fact that we have not been able to take action on your application as yet, but I want to assure you that we are moving as quickly as we can and that there will be no penalty for the delay in our processing. Applicants who are selected for interview will be contacted via email. If our Committee on Admissions concludes that we can invite you for an interview and campus visit, we will get it done!

Please accept our apology for any inconvenience caused by our extended review of your file. We expect to complete our evaluation quite soon, and wish you success with all your applications.

While this situation isn't exactly unexpected, seeing it in writing really worries me.

Does anyone know what the percentage was before?
 
Haha I've never seen a school/job send an email like that before.

According to MSAR about 9.25% of applicants get an interview...I know BU always gets an incredibly large amount of applicants, but maybe this year they are struggling because so many were completed so early? I can't remember where, but I've definitely seen elsewhere things about this cycle having an abnormally large amount of applications complete early on.

Congrats! This gives me hope that I may hear something soon.. I was complete in early August and have been patiently waiting..

Congrats! Do you mind sharing your stats? I didn't think they'd gotten as far as late July.

Thanks! My stats are pretty average, on par or a little under BU's according to MSAR, though I did go there for undergrad so maybe that makes a difference? I know I get so nervous when I see people getting IIs that were complete after me, but if it makes anyone feel better, idk if BU necessarily reviews/invites in order--I know several people that have been complete early on for BU but didn't get offered an interview until after the New Year (they went on to be accepted at BUSM). Haha I guess I'm being pretty neurotic, I was also complete in late July and haven't heard anything yet, but I guess it's still early.
