Did anyone with both interviews spread them out? I think it might be worth it to schedule my UT interview asap since there are no CT interviews until mid-January.
 
I recently got an email for a pre-interview hold. Anyone else get this? I know a lot of people have been rejected but I didn't know they gave out pre-interview holds too...?

Edit: This is for university track.
 
I got a pre-interview hold at CCLCM and I was offered an interview a few months later. I don't know how it works at Case.

Mine is for UT but hopefully this is how it ends up for me as well! I just wanted to make sure that the hold email isn't the same as a rejection.

Long time lurker, recently accepted 🙂 Does the "accept offer" button in the Acceptance Letter finalize your decision to attend Case/is binding or is it simply a "yes, hold my place" sort of thing? Thanks!

At this point nothing is binding. At any school whatsoever. Except for ED applicants of course.

I did not write a pre-interview letter of interest, but got off hold nonetheless. I sent my post-interview thank you letters to [email protected] -- that would probably be the right place to send interest/update letters too.

I was put on pre interview hold from CCLCM and ended up getting II from both tracks like a month later (didn't send any kind of update/interest letter) so maybe they were just waiting to send them both out at once? Or maybe just my wishful thinking. Also has anyone had their LOR writers contacted by CCLCM over the phone for a reference...
 
How long does it usually take for them to get back to you after you interview?

If you dont mind me asking, when did you interview and did they email you about a hold?I interviewed about 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear any news. I understand it is also the holiday season so I might not hear anything until after thanksgiving.

According to Twitter, a bunch of interview days (including mine!) were reviewed yesterday.... Nervewracking and exciting!! Looks like early to mid December is a big time for decisions at a lot of schools, so I expect to see a flurry of activity on SDN in the next few weeks!

CaseWesternAdmissions on twitter: "Monday's University Track Ad Com will review interviewees from November 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19. Decisions out in a couple weeks."

I was in that group of interviewees as well. Good luck!

<3 weeks turnover for me. However I read that they release several interview groups at once, so some people wait 1-2 weeks longer than others.

So I'm finally tackling the secondary right now after sitting on it for months (I know, stupid of me), and I have a question about the first prompt. It's asking about a significant personal challenge I've faced. The thing is, I went into extensive detail about this in my personal statement. And I can't think of really anything else to say (and I'm exceedingly grateful for that). Should I repeat what I said in my personal statement, or come up with a new, but weaker point for the secondary?

You may be stuck because you have a really major challenge that eclipses the others. Just a thought, but referencing the significant challenge you wrote about in the personal statement briefly and going on to talk about another challenge--maybe dealing with the first? Maybe internal, instead of external? Maybe people-centered, if the first was environment-focused? The point is, you want your interviewers to get to know you, in as much depth as possible. Repetition won't get you there. But nobody has just a single problem. . .do they?

I know it's the same challenge in both, but you should rewrite this challenge in a new way. New perspective perhaps. More concise? add different details? a different sequence? different emphasis in the story? Different analysis? See, it's possible different people may be reading different parts of your application.

agreed. Something as simple as public speaking if told personally and articulated clearly could work.

It seems impossible to call these. Don't be bummed, @happypatatoes. Sting, yep--it sure does. I console myself by thinking that the fit may not have been all that good if the interviewers could not see my specialness! Wishing you happier news. (And confident that it is coming.)

Those who interviewed November 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19 -- do you think we will hear this upcoming week or the week after? Twitter says we were reviewed earlier this week, on Monday, so I think we could get some news this week! I'm hopeful!

As for CT -- all they told me, when I interviewed on November 13, was that we would hear "before Christmas". I think decisions started going out ~12/11 last year... Are we anticipating the same time frame this year? That's the day before my PChem final, so either way, I don't think I'll be able to focus too much 😉

Speculating isn't going to actually do much, but I think it's more fun to make guesses than just sitting idly by 🙂

For CT I believe they mentioned December 15th, but don't quote me on that.
