So surprised to have an acceptance here today!! So excited! Definitely my top choice thus far and it totally takes the sting off of a post-II rejection I got this morning!
Congrats. What date was your interview?

Congrats on the acceptance @conultantmd!!! Rejected pre-II here a few days ago. Very nicely worded letter though! Complete mid-August.

A little bummed but my season has been going well thus far. Good luck to the rest of you guys in the running!!!

Glad to hear all is well for you. Every "no thanks" is a new ouchie (at least for me), but hope that you like the school you end up at, @mellow-yellow

has dartmouth sent out any post-interview waitlists or rejections yet? Has anyone gotten an acceptance that wasn't auto (as in more than 1 month post-interview?

I've been waiting since september so I am a bit antsy...

Nope. Early jan interview with no word yet. They will probably be first or second week in March.

Any other accepted students get an email from the MD/MBA program after accepting your spot? I'm interested in it, and I don't think I specified anything about it on my application, so I wonder if it is an automatic thing.

:nono: Probably more like mid to late March!
Did you contact someone in the admissions office? If they're following the AAMC traffic rules, they should make at 85 admissions offers by March 15th. They aren't required to follow the traffic rules, but in prior years they've waitlisted people as early as ~2/18.

I'm hoping they start notifying us soon.

If the aforementioned comment is true, I'll be ecstatic. I LOVE this school and want to hear back so badly! But I'm sticking to probably mid-March. If I'm wrong, YAY! If I'm right, I won't be so disappointed 🙂

Does anyone know when the dates of the last interviews for Dartmouth? When would the last II's go out?

Called Admissions today...they interview through the end of March and very likely (they couldn't/wouldn't confirm but it was implied) won't alert most people of decisions until mid-April.

My guess is that they will have accepted 85 people by March 15th, but that doesn't mean they have to let everyone know by then. As we're all well aware, schools generally end up accepting 3x the matriculating class size before its all said an done, so the way everything is shaping up, my guess is that most of us won't know for sure until mid-April.

Just my two cents though. Don't hold me to it though!

Yes it is automatic. There are quite a few emails they send out after the acceptance related to different stuffs. Congrats!

Does anyone know if travel for Dartmouth second look is paid for?

Thank you for calling and letting us know what they said!

I'm sure they'll accept at least 85 people by March 15th, but I'm hoping that will include at least a few of us that haven't heard back yet. I don't think they've accepted that many people yet, considering how they explained the process on interview day and that they've only been meeting roughly twice a month.

I mentioned the March 15th tidbit because no one has posted about being waitlisted yet. It's a little late in the season to have not heard anything back, compared with past seasons (thank you again, @Pedsmdplease for compiling all of those dates).

Regardless of when we finally hear back, I hope we there is good news in store for us!

Mid April fits what they said at my interview date as well.

It is so easy to get amped up but the fact is this gets sorted out as late as June for candidates that had multiple top 20 inbites

Bought a picture at a thrift store today solely to use the frame...and realized it is an old picture of the Baker Building library on the Dartmouth campus once I got it home! Truly truly did not look at the picture long enough to realize what it was before I bought it.

IS THIS A SIGN?!!??!!??!!?? (A neurotic pre-med can dream)

You guys - it's like the Dartmouth admissions office doesn't care that I found this picture and it's a sign they should accept me. What gives?

(note the sarcasm +/- delirium)

@Pedsmdplease, the Dartmouth folks called me and explained their hesitation. Apparently, they found an old baby picture of you naked on a blanket and didn't know quite how to interpret that as a sign. Are they supposed to treasure and cuddle you or leave you stripped of everything? That's what they asked me, but wisely I kept my own counsel. . . .:pacifier:

This response made me laugh out loud - needed that today, thanks! 🙂

i don't know what to think... was complete in early September... nothing so far... but i am still optimistic, i was put on the waiting list last year....

Actually, the traffic rules from AAMC changed this year.

" 4) (Change) By March 15 of the matriculation year, each school or program have issued a number of offers of acceptance at least equal to the expected number of students in its first-year entering class and have reported those acceptance actions to the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). " from https://www.aamc.org/download/364264/data/2014trafficrules.pdf

Last year it was March 30 where the schools had to give out at least the minimum number of acceptances, whereas this year it is March 15.

Wishing you good news, @hustle3. The deliberations do seem to go on and on, and the wait is painful. Hope your outcome is what suits you best!

Interviewed at Dartmouth this Tuesday. Was -24 degrees the morning of the interview... Never seen anything like it before!

Interview day was so relaxing and positive. Dino gets a shoutout for giving the most hilarious financial aid session I have ever seen. Second shoutout goes to Joan, who was just so caring and kind and helpful to us (18 of us!) all.

Last minute II invitation!! Was not expecting this at all! Would I interviewing for an waitlist spot, though?
No. They don't send most of the acceptances until very late in the season (expected to be sometime in April this year) to avoid that.

About an hour ago. Got the axe too.

Also rejected pre-interview. It sucks, but it's nice to know where I stand. Good luck to everyone else!
