committee meets on thursdays so these are all from yesterday probably
Same here. Interviewed in NovemberDid anyone else not hear anything post-interview? Did I dodge the bullet? and going into WL pile?
Don't give up... this is my fourth time applying...🙂I don't know whether I'll be rejected or accepted, but I can say: this was one of the best schools I've EVER seen. I interviewed at Oxford this December, but it doesn't come close to the awesomeness of Dartmouth! I guess Americans really do do it better! 🙂 Good luck to you all. Sorry about the stream of rejection emails today. To those who received it if it makes you feel better, this is my third time applying through AMCAS. First two times I only got an interview at Howard...Don't give up 🙂
It is not. But they give you the student host information again so you shouldn't have to pay for a hotel.Does anyone know if travel for Dartmouth second look is paid for?

Loved this school, but I had such unusual and uncomfortable interviews probably because I'm such an awkward human being.
Alas, I am expecting a nicely-worded rejection email. Hopefully medical school will teach me how to become more eloquent!
I have an interview coming up. Can someone please tell me about the interview day/ what to expect/ if there's a difficult interview/ what they focus on (diversity, humanities, etc.)?
The interview day was overall very relaxed. We started off with a general meeting led by Aileen (about the school, curriculum, etc. etc.) and then basically a Q and A session with another admissions guy (I think he's someone important, but I was too nervous to realize who he was.) Then a quick, entertaining financial aid session (gotta love when they try to make those things interesting.) Then we had a tour of the hospital (you'll take a free bus there so don't worry about walking anywhere too far) and lunch (you get a ticket to get whatever in the cafeteria.. best lunch options I've had at an interview yet!) then sometime between 1 and 3 or so you have two 1/2 hour one-on-one interviews (all interview locations are easy to get to and there will be lots of guidance on where to go). The day wraps up with a tour of the medical school campus.
In terms of interview questions, they don't have a bank of questions they require interviewers to ask. Rather, they just let each interviewer ask whatever they want. What is helpful is that there is a binder in the main area of the admissions office with the CV/resume for each interviewer. So at the beginning of the day you'll get a schedule on which can see who you'll interview with and there will be plenty of time during the day to peek at their info in the binder. Interviewers could be MDs, medical students, or other faculty. I think someone even had a librarian!
My interview experience was overall positive in the sense that both of my interviewers were outgoing and friendly. I'm going to be vague because I'm not sure what the rules are on disclosure and whatnot haha. One of my interviews was very relaxed and consisted of "typical" interview questions. My second interview was a bit more "intense" in terms of complexity of questions. Some questions probed me to discuss issues beyond stuff in my application (questions more designed to gauge how I think/explain myself.) Nothing too bad though. Would've been no trouble at all for a quick thinker, but I was nervous and I'm awkward haha.
I would say don't fret whatsoever. It wasn't harder or different than any other interview I had (besides MMIs, of course.) Hopefully that helps a bit!
Basically same here. I interviewed Oct 9 and haven't heard anything either...I have not heard anything and I interviewed on 10/16/14 so its been 19 weeks!
Ughh that's like an eternity from nowwwwIf it makes you feel any better the last committee meeting is the second week in April so we will all know soon!

Rejected pre-II today via email.
When were you complete?
+1 I wonder why they had to wait this long to reject us if they new from the beginning that they were not going to interview us...
Thank you! And I hope another medical school scoops you up, if they haven't already!September, I believe.
They didn't. They reject people throughout the cycle and still interview through March, so you were still being considered for the last couple weeks of interviews.+1 I wonder why they had to wait this long to reject us if they new from the beginning that they were not going to interview us...
You're not alone -- I was complete in July and sent an update in January, but still haven't heard anything either...I was complete in Sept and still haven't heard a peep :/

At my interview they said the last meeting would be during the first week of April. If that means the first full week, they might still send our invitations at the end of March, but that seems unlikely.I was just looking at last years forum and I saw II's around the 8th, 16th, and 31st of March, so I suppose some II's could still go out 🙂
Yeah it might be that the IIs were because people had canceled last minute and hey we're trying to fill slots. At my interview they said the last meeting would be during the first week of April. If that means the first full week, they might still send our invitations at the end of March, but that seems unlikely.
So hopefully they send you one before then!
