I wonder how many of those 18% were part of the 7 year BS/MD or did that early assurance thing.
I'd like to know that too. I knew a couple of people who were part of those programs.

There is a field in which to submit updates on the status page. I assume it is fair game to use it is you are on hold. What is the latest interview date that has been scheduled so far? And also, does anyone know if update letters are welcomed for hold applicants (do they still read them?)
when were you complete?Put on hold yesterday. Anyone know if this is a death sentence or not? Haha
Umm I submitted 7/17, so around there?when were you complete?
I got an interview on 8/28 and was complete 7/30. Hopefully you'll hear soon!Complete early August - cricket-ville. Not even a hold. 36mcat, both GPA ~3.7+
Wondering what the latest complete dates are for II's. REALLY hoping for a II… and soon!!
I was complete 7/31. 3.65/3.54/35 MCAT and GW alumni. I have had no status change whatsoever either.Complete early August - cricket-ville. Not even a hold. 36mcat, both GPA ~3.7+

It's not a death sentence! I was complete mid July and put on hold mid Aug. Got an II today! I did have a second mcat score come out Aug 26th and I sent an update letter before the hold actually. I think, judging from previous threads, if you have anything substantial to add, gwu likes update letters 🙂Put on hold yesterday. Anyone know if this is a death sentence or not? Haha
It didn't say it was an MCAT hold. I have been complete/gotten interviews despite waiting for a second MCAT. My applicant page said the normal hold message but I just mentioned the MCAT part b/c it may have been a factor swaying the II in my favor. Congrats though! What date did you get?Just got an II!!
Complete since 7/16 without a hold.
@ricecakeMD The MCAT hold is a different thing from the general hold. I wouldn't compare the two.
EDIT: I say this a lot, but I have a friend who was on hold last year for a month an a half, got an II, and is now matriculating. It's all OK.

Oct 30th? We may have gotten the same date 😀Interesting, I know a person who was on an MCAT hold (he specified that he'd retake the test, so that put him on an auto hold) who got an II. Either way, all that matters is that you got an II!
I'm interviewing at the end of October 😀

I actually didn't specify to any school that I was going to retake because I only applied to schools that were around my first MCAT score...the second score was so I could apply more broadly. But AMCAS automatically updates your app when you register...which is a very not well known fact. Lol.
!!That's right! I guess I'll see you there 😉
P.S
That's an interesting tidbit about AMCAS, thanks.
Btw, did you get a confirmation email when you replied to reserve your interview date?
Hey guys, I submitted my supplementary rather late and my status is this: We have received your secondary application to the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. If you have not done so, please send your letters of recommendation to AMCAS. If you have questions about letters please contact AMCAS. If we require any further documentation, we will contact you.
How long does it usually take after this to get an II/ on hold?

Do you think "in-area" emails/updates help at all?Hello GW hopefuls, MS2 @ GW here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
"in area" no, admissions doesn't really care. Meaningful update letters with what you've done since your application/emphasizing your interest in GW? That's what got me off hold and in an interview chair.Do you think "in-area" emails/updates help at all?
Ok thanks! and you just wrote it in the box that they give you to update stuff?"in area" no, admissions doesn't really care. Meaningful update letters with what you've done since your application/emphasizing your interest in GW? That's what got me off hold and in an interview chair.
Did you participate in the Iscopes program? If you did, what did you do in the program, and what sorts of service projects did they have? Thanks!Hello GW hopefuls, MS2 @ GW here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I sent my letters by snail mail to Dean McQuail, who is in charge of admissions.Ok thanks! and you just wrote it in the box that they give you to update stuff?
I personally didn't get involved with ISCOPES, although it is popular. There are a lot of opportunities for community service besides that, including but not limited to the entirely student-run Healing Clinic, which I am a part of.Did you participate in the Iscopes program? If you did, what did you do in the program, and what sorts of service projects did they have? Thanks!
Meaningful activities. Updating them on my research project, awards I've been given, promotion at work (I was an EMT,) my grades at the end of the semester etc. And also mentioned that GW was my top choice and that I really wanted to go there (don't just say that if it's not.) I sent a letter once per month (I ended up sending two) and got an II a few days after the second letter. When did you send your letters and what kinds of activities do you feel are important to mention?
