For me, I had to email them regarding my FAP. I Emailed them on 7/8 when i finished my application. on 7/9 my FAP was approved ("07/09/2014 - Your application fee payment or AMCAS fee waiver approval was received.") and my status page says "07/09/2014 - Your Secondary Application was completed by the Office of Admissions and is currently under review by the Committee for Admissions."

From this, I'm guess once you email them with the specific email title they specifically tell you to put, then they will take care of it for you without emailing you back.

This is exactly what mine says right now. So it all worked itself out.
 
I hope I'm reading the instructions correctly--I'm going to matriculate into a one years masters program next semester. That means I have to indicate a letter of rec on the application for a class and teacher I don't even know? And my secondary won't be looked at until my semester is over?

If you read the instructions, it says to just denote the class and name as "N/A" and course number and credits as "0" or something to that nature...but yea I don't think we are going to get reviewed until after the first semester :/
 
Its hard to tell that my secondary was submitted, especially because I am using FAP. No response to the email either :/
 
no secondary here either verified 6/10. not worried though…gives me some time to come to peace with $120 I'm going to lose
 
on the secondary instructions, they say "Please request your AMCAS ID be included on each of your letters." So if my letters do not have my amcas ID on there, my application wont be reviewed?? "
 
Does anybody else's application status say "is currently under review by the committee for admissions"? What does this mean/when might we potentially hear back?

It means your application has been accepted and is under review by the Admissions Committee. Oi mate it's only July 11 so chill.

I'm just excited, like most of us. Hearing that some schools are already sending out interview invites is pretty daunting!
 
I haven't taken biochem, do you think that might be why they are not sending me the secondary?

Could you let us know when you submitted your secondary? I submitted 7/8 and it doesn't say anything like that on my status page.

Sure! I submitted on 7/9 and was marked complete on 7/10, the school already had my letters so it didn't take long. The "complete" status that I got said that the app was going in for review, but that could also just be a generic complete status. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I never received that Complete email--and I would imagine they have my letters too. AMCAS had them before I was verified on 6/11. I'll probably shoot them an email and see if everything is okay with my secondary.

Before you call, check the status page. I never got an email either but went to check and it was posted. Good luck!!

Yeah that's what I went to look at--fee is paid, but no mention of secondary being completed or the message you posted. I emailed them, and I'll update everyone with their reply in case anyone is in a similar situation. Good luck to you as well!
 
^ Yeah, this wait is getting ridiculous


EDIT: Recieved today. At this point I'm pretty confident that if you complain about it on sdn and/or call the school, you will get the secondary lol 🙂

no secondary yet either. verified 6/4, 3.7+/34+ . i'm not too worried, itll get here eventually
 
I have a committee letter being sent to NYMC that has other letters of recommendation attached. Should I list these additional LOR as optional letters on the secondary or is it dealt as one committee letter packet?
 
Received and submitted within 10 mins lol.. 120 $ poor bank account -_- was verified on 6/9.

Got it today, a couple of minutes after AMCAS received my letter- probably a coincidence. I also feel like they're charging us for the convenience of their secondary. =P

That's so weird. I submitted my primary this morning and I got the secondary like 6 hours after. But I have issues with the LOR requirements so I can't turn it in yet 🙁
 
I'm sure it's just a formality, but I did receive an email from admissions today asking me to call the director and discuss my letters of evaluation. A little strange but I'll find out what's going on tomorrow when I give her a ring.
 
anyone know how strict they are on their LOR requirement? i only have one UG science, UG nonscience and graduate...
 
I'm not even verified yet and I received a secondary today, I'm pretty sure it is random. I'm glad to know that there are no essays! Applying to a million schools so the less essays the better haha!
 
Damn it, was so happy to see that I got a secondary but apparently they don't screen and charge $120. Do you even know how many Doritos Locos tacos that is... *sigh*

Same thing happened to me and a couple of other people on the thread. Just seems like we were lucky to be picked early by the computer system!

Why can't you turn it in yet? Do they say not to submit the secondaries until the letters are in?

I don't have a letter from my undergrad department (non-trad) and I don't have a non-science faculty letter either. I emailed them and asked them for advice on how to proceed so until then I'll hold off on submitting the secondary.
