I was complete in mid August. KIT and hold emails on 8/28, OOS.

This is what I've gathered from what I'm reading on this thread and last year's thread: a hold is not great but not necessarily a bad thing because you're still in the running. I'm assuming very few who've gotten a hold recently (and remember, the cycle is still faaaar from over) have gotten an II. I definitely think this could mean a possible II later. For those bummed about a hold, NYMC got a little more than 11,000 applicants total last year. With such a large amount of applicants, I'd say a hold isn't such a bad thing.
 
Congrats to all those with interviews! If anyone scheduled theirs for 10/23, PM me!! I'll be flying into white plains at 4 pm on the 22 if anyone wants to share a cab/get dinner or something! So excited to meet you all!!
 
Hey everyone, I got a II this morning. I was complete on July 15th, and got the KIT on 8/1. No hold email.

I didn't get to check my email until later this afternoon, and scheduled an interview for 12/8. Anyone know if having an interview that late is a big negative?

I've been wondering this too! Are they like some schools that are silent and then reject you starting Oct/Nov or are they letting people know about rejections now?
 
Has anyone who was complete mid-late august gotten an II?

They are silent reject-ers for the most part. So if all the people around your complete date get IIs and you get nothing. Wait another month because you may be on hold. After that it is most likely you got canned.

Oh okay, seems like no one has gotten off of hold then. I was just thinking that if non hold interviewees are getting dates so late in the cycle, it does not bode well for holds like myself.

I'm interviewing in december too, so I would like to know this as well. To my knowledge first interview invites went out 8/29, they filled up pretty fast eh?
 
Complete 7/23 and II yesterday, only spot left was December 4th. I'm a later interviewee like a few other people- how much does this affect our chances? Anyone?

I don't think it will hurt you that much. People interview into March/April and get accepted, so don't freak out too much. You have an interview which means that you are being seriously considered!
 
I was under review and complete on 8/26. I got the KIT email 8/28.
 
Hey, does anyone have any early October interview dates here? I'm gonna be in New York for another interview in October and it'd be nice to combine these trips, but I'm not sure if NYMC would want me to move my interview up 1.5 months.....

Interviews start on 10/06... I feel like NYMC should be understanding especially if it would save you a long and expensive flight! It never hurts to ask.

Ah ok!! I have an interview at another NY school on 10/6 and wanted to schedule NYMC that same week. It would save me $500+ and two 8-10 hour travel days, so I would love for it to work out. I'll give them a call on Monday or Tuesday 🙂 thanks!!!
 
I want to move my date just like 2 days earlier if that's possible; not sure if it is. Does anyone know what dates NYMC interviews on (i.e. only Tuesdays, thursdays, or is it all days of the week?) and for those trying to switch dates, are you guys' having any success?
 
I called to push mine earlier and they told me they couldn't do anything. It wouldn't hurt to call though. Maybe there are recent cancellations etc.

Submitted secondary 8/11/14
Today I was marked complete and under review (9/8/14)

OOS, I will update with KIT/II if either of them materialize-although I am expecting to be rejected
 
Did everyone who got an II get the KIT email?

Yeah, might be hard, but it's possible....I emailed them this weekend and they were pretty nice; opened a few more spots since they only had 1 left that I couldn't attend, so I'll be interviewing in December, which is fine b/c it's the day after my last final, so no school to worry about.
 
Not sure if this is a stupid question, but how do people usually write thank you's for MMIs? Send one to the admissions director? One for each interviewer?

Ask the admissions office rep on interview day if they give out email addresses of the individual interviewers. Often times they don't. Thank you letters are not necessary 99% of the time for MMIs unless maybe you met the admissions director in the cafeteria during lunch and the two of you really hit it off.
 
Just spoke to admissions at the school, he said everybody should have received a KIT email when your app is complete, maybe it it lost in your spam.
If you want it that bad, they can resend the email to you.

At that time you will be directed to this status page to schedule your interview. Once scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email and it will note the date you are scheduled below."

I'm pretty sure that just means that they haven't made a decision yet. it's what comes up as under interviews as soon as your application is complete

Awesome thanks! Some of these hold statuses are so nice and so vague that I can't tell I'm on hold so I thought I'd check 🙂
 
That's the default message that they have. It's been like that for me since I submitted the secondary.
 
Where do you guys check your status? I went back to the app but it won't let me log-in to see anything like that since I submitted already.
