ACCEPTED! OMG OMG OMG OMG. Interviewed 11/21, LizzyM <65, nontrad.
So do they appear not to have too much OOS bias?
Cool; thank you.Nope!! Private school so they don't look to fill an in state quota.
Anyone know roughly how many people are accepted (including those that do not matriculate) each year? I don't have MSAR anymore (info for a friend). Thank you for helping!
Thank you!I think the approximations I heard were something like 250 acceptances for 125 spots.
I may be misinformed but I did hear about one being worked on. But there are definitely places you can volunteer at in the area,Maybe this was mentioned during the interview day and I missed it, but are there any student-run health clinics or clinics in general that medical students can help out at?

interviewed early October and still haven't heard anything.
We have a ROAST through the pediatrics interest group where professors and students make fun of each other, the curriculum, etc., but that is the closest we get to a talent show. We also have MedBall, which is probably close to a "winter formal".Does anyone know if OUWB sets up like a talent show or winter formal for their med students? I was just curious about the social and bonding events for students. Thanks!
No need to bring a resume and yes just relax and be yourself!
Just received a call for a very generous scholarship offer! Funny thing is I haven't even completed my FAFSA yet...
Might be a game changer!

I've been thinking a lot about that, especially because my pre-med advisor told me that once you interview at a school it means your stats are "good enough" and it's really all about the interview. But you'd have to think that even if they really like you and that you fit in, and there's someone else that fits equally well, they'd go with the one with the better stats. Right?
I interviewed on Jan 9 and didn't get a call which means I'm on the wait list
Does anyone know if there's significant movement for the wait list for this school?
I don't think that is true. Just because you didn't hear today does not mean you are on the waitlist. They don't form the waitlist till March or April, I forget. They continue to evaluate their applicants.
Does Oakland email post-interview rejections?
+1is anyone not able to RSVP for second look?
Yep, basically a waste of time. They assume you still have interest, and are still interviewing people. Once the waitlist forms, then I might give them a call and let them know you want to go here and write an update only if something amazing happened. So post-interview love letters (letters of interest/intent) don't make much impact here? I'm getting antsy waiting to hear back b/c this school is kind of a top choice for me, but I don't want to be needlessly overbearing....

I think it was addressed before somewhere in this forum or last year's. The school said that there scores were just under the national average which sits at 228. That means that OUWB was probably around there. I'm guessing maybe 225-226 range. I interviewed at another school which has been established since 1960s who disclosed their scores as well. It was the same score range 225-226, also under the national average. So it is probably more directed towards the individual students, but I'm sure that quality of the curriculum would help as well! Hope this helps.Does anyone know what the average step 1 score is at Oakland? I know its typically more of an indication of the student's effort studying than the curriculum, but still nice to know as much information as possible!
