I've been to New Orleans quite a few times. But I'm coming 2 days early so I can explore the city more. Do you have any places you recommend looking into?

Make sure to get a feel for different parts of the city aside from what's right around the school! That being said, there's a restaurant a few blocks away from the school, Domenica which is seriously some of the best pizza I've had outside (and possibly including) NYC. It's a tad pricey at night, but pizzas are half price from 2-5 everyday.

Other than that, head down Magazine street. It goes on forever, but a lot of my favorites such as The Rum House and Reginelli's are around Napoleon Avenue.

Basically, just eat everything. There's restaurants I still crave all the time. And definitely make sure to ask around/check online to see if there are any festivals going on! Some of the best food ones are in the fall.

It was under the application progress screen. The very first page when you log in. It's all good though lol, I added 4 more schools, so hopefully I get one acceptance somewhere

Yeah I completed the DO application last week because I was so scared. Glad I didn't pay for it now. Gotta just stay confident. And, I mean, if I could get off SDN that would help...

I second the suggestion to check out Domenica. Awesome happy hour deal, goes until 6 though I think. The other John Besh restaurants have great happy hours too. Go get some half price raw oysters and specialty cocktails at Luke. Go to Frenchman street and hear some live music. Cajun Mikes is a dive bar with good Cajun food, right across the street from domenica. Wish there were other places in the city proper with good Cajun food that's not expensive, but none come to mind. Crescent pie and sausage company is pretty good but they're up in midcity.

II too!!!!! I am beyond excited; Tulane is one of the schools that interests me most and I have always wanted to spend time in New Orleans. I didn't have high hopes as I was turned down pre-interview last cycle.

So today I had the Preliminary Reject status. But I looked back again and it is gone? Is yours still there? Did they mean to wait to reject all of us till later or in some glimpse of hope did they (most likely not...) change their minds? haha (one can dream!)

II! So excited! OOS, 3.6 cGPA, 3.5 sGPA, 33 MCAT. I selected 10/13 as my interview date. Can't wait to travel to the Big Easy once again!
