Complete!!! Turns out I had already made an account, so obviously the "create an account" link wasn't working... Derp.
Good luck, everyone!

Do you think we should give up if we haven't received secondary by now? I was verified 6/3.

When all you are doing is literally waiting, would you mind explaining to me what exactly "giving up" entails? 😛

With out a secondary invite, I don't think you can even withdraw unless you sent then an e-mail stating so. And no i would not recommend you withdraw.

Haha good point. I guess it means stop checking my email neurotically every 5 minutes lol.

I guess it might be worth it to pre-write this secondary after all, seeing as how I could still get one and how I don't really have much else to do with my time now that I've completed all my other secondaries.

Yeah, I would at least get down ideas and bullet points about what you think you would talk about. I didn't think I would get a secondary (let alone as early as I did) and I really wish I had pre-written some of it because it took me 2 weeks to do it.

Did any of you receive a formal complete email, or does it just say "under review" when you log into your status page?

I saw an email from Vanderbilt in my inbox this morning and thought it was my first rejection, turned out to be the secondary...Seems like they're working their way through the apps with average stats, so for those of you who haven't gotten a secondary don't give up just yet!

MCAT 38, GPA > 3.7 Verified 7/14. Still no news, but they are definitely still giving em out it looks like!

Any II's yet for people who submitted a little later (after 7/20)?

It sucks having a ~75 LizzyM and not even having a secondary yet and seeing everyone getting interviews......

73 here. Same boat. However, I'm honestly really happy for those getting interviews despite my own situation -- Vandy is a great school and I wish you all the best 🙂 enjoy your interviews!!!

For those with IIs, what interview dates are being offered?

I have a few questions if there are any Vandy students around.

1) Can anyone talk about what the curriculum 2.0 is like? How has the compressed preclinical year been? Also, what are the immersion sequences really like? I read about them on the page, but I guess I am still not totally clear about if they are all in the hospital or partly classroom based.

2) Have any classes taken Step 1 after the new curriculum? Is there any data on how they fared?

3) Does anyone know what kind of percentage of interviewees are accepted?

4) Anything else about Vandy that is great/not great?

Best of luck to everyone!

+1, very curious as well.

I'm not a current Vandy student but just from reading these threads I think I can answer question 3. The numbers I've seen floating around are about 500 students are interviewed and 250-300 of those are accepted. The numbers may be lower with the now decreased class size, but that's still an almost 50% chance.

Verified by AMCAS June 12, I've been waiting for a while. I would assume they are starting to send out secondaries to people with lower stats now. FOr your reference, my GPA is 3.93-4.0, MCAT is 30-34.

Umm..How is a 3.93-4.0 a "lower stat"? Or are you saying you already received a secondary and I missed it?

I had really been hoping for one, but if I am really honest, the break in secondaries is not unappreciated this week. And not sure I want to invest further by prewriting... not today anyway. But as it is, so far a 36 MCAT doesn't seem to help a 3.7+ gpa at Vandy. Verified 6/30.. not sure that has much to do with anything at this point.

I believe he's saying that for Vanderbilt, his 30-34 MCAT is "low stat".

If you look at the MCAT scores getting secondaries, a 30-34 is "low"

II! 3.85+, 37+, completed like July 10-15 or somewhere in that timeframe lol. Good luck y'all!

It looks like almost all the II's given so far were to people complete in early-to-mid July.
Yep, looks like it. I'm sure they will work their way through the secondaries like they did with primaries. Congrats on the nice start to your week by the way!

Thanks man! I'm wondering if Vandy will be releasing II's incrementally or in waves, and if they'll have a "reviewed/hold" status or release rejections along with II's, but I haven't checked last year's thread yet. I'll check it and report back.

friend received secondary with 30-33 MCAT about 2 weeks ago.
they've never been on SDN before so don't only use this forum to determine who is getting secondaries!

So, last year first rejections (pre- and post-secondary) came out in early October. There does not appear to be any sort of "reviewed/hold" status.

Secondary invite this morning; AMCAS verified 6/27, GPA 3.6-3.7, MCAT 38+.

Definitely still sending them out, even those of us with early submissions - don't lose hope!
