Also last year people said that they received their calls at night. Like after dinner ish.
This is helpful because the "under the review tab" posts don't help me at all! Plus, my kid never checks his online statuses, so when any of these threads talk about online nuances, I learn nothing except if it were me I would be doing it too, so Im glad he has been able to resist. Sounds maddening.
In some ways, I do think there are some very highly and yet unnecessarily stressed kids here, but on the other hand I am glad you have a place to vent (and I feel reassured that it's going about the same for him as for a lot of folks.) Sure wasn't the case in my day, this is certain!! Definitely a double-edged sword.
Of course, I risk being called a helicopter parent just for trying to pay attention!
😉 What would you term a parent who stealthily watches various websites and can always be counted on to do a little research if asked, a personal Consumer Reports? Mostly I keep what I know to myself and have zero opinions unless specifically brought up and even then I ask, are you venting or asking? Without a doubt, sometimes peeking behind the curtain allows me a certain calm that everything is on track - doesn't have to be a straight line in the least, and as it is, sometimes life is far more interesting if it's not! But hes' paying his way in the world. So, it's all good.
But I gotta say - this med school process is absolutely insane, and I had zero clue of it. I have a whole new respect for just about every doctor I've ever seen…. then again, I look at some of them and wonder how they ever made it!
🙂 Yep, in a lot of ways a crap shoot.
And as a mom, might I suggest you eat something early so you are either perfectly poised to pop the champagne or will have remained healthy by having something in your stomach when you lose your appetite completely. Allow yourself about 40 minutes to wallow - and then seriously, try your best to put it in your rearview mirror. It ain't over til it's all over…. sometimes life likes hoops. But secretly, I have ever finger and toes crossed for lots of good news!
