So I'm pretty in love with VTC, but I have one qualm. How do you pronounce Carilion? I've been says Cari- like in the Caro- in Carolina, but then adding -lion.

I wish I was better with the phonetic markings but... "Cuh-ril-ion" it was also described to me over the phone during my own application cycle as "carylion" but the "a" is a soft a

Has anyone heard anything from them lately regarding interviews? It's been silence for a month (Complete 7/30) and it is my top choice. Getting anxious.

Though I added VTC late, I only just for marked complete a few days ago! I think they review apps in batches so maybe there will be a wave of IIs soon (hopefully).

I was complete on 8/1 and haven't heard anything, either.

So I did some internet sleuthing and according to last year's thread, it seems like they had two major II sprees separated by a month (end of July and end of August). Since this year's started mid-August, I expect we should hear something in the coming week...fingers crossed!

Just finished interviewing here yesterday and absolutely loved every bit of the school and the area (the interview process is very enjoyable!) Good luck to everyone else who is or will be interviewing! *fingers crossed*

Interviewed here too. It was a bit of a whirlwind day (the 9 or so hours just flew by).

The MMI was straight forward and fairly enjoyable (some scenarios were more challenging than others, but that's an obvious part of the process). I liked that the interviewers were so diverse - man, woman, old, young, black, white, etc! If VTC adcom is reading this, that was one of the best parts!

II just now! IS, ~3.7 cgpa, ~3.5 sgpa, >35 mcat. I can't believe they literally only give us one option for the interview date…some people have stuff to do.

So I ****ed up really bad and booked my flight before confirming my attendance at the interview. Now I've spent over $400 on a plane ticket and I'm waitlisted for the 10/4 interview. Any suggestions?

When did you buy your ticket? You can cancel any airline ticket within 24 hours from purchase for full refund. After that period you most likely will have to pay a change fee which varies between airlines but should be in the $200-$300 range. In that case, you have a chance to salvage around the half of the value of the ticket.
I'd probably eat the change fee and reboot the ticket to your scheduled date but there is always a chance that this can turn out to be the wrong move.

Thanks for your help! Luckily I booked it last night so I was able to cancel it today for a full refund.

Just marked complete today! Hoping for some good news from this awesome school 😀, looks like a November or December date at this point if I'm lucky

I've replied to the interview email to confirm the II date but I haven't gotten a response back in awhile. Is there any kind of email they send back to you reserving your spot for the interview day?

They'll send it back in a day or so. At this point, you'll likely be put on the waitlist for the 4th and then told if you don't get off then you'll be invited for the 25th. I replied a few days ago and it was already full then.

Thanks. I haven't gotten a response back for a week though.

I was wondering if I could get some help with this cause VTC hasn't answered my emails yet... My committee letter consists of 3 letters I received from my professors and I also have 2 supplemental letters. Does my committee letter count as 1 or 3 letters? Cause VTC says you have to have at least 4 letters of rec.... I have received a complete email too.
