How strict is this two week deadline..?
I think some ppl turned in like a day late and still got IIs but I would Try to stick to it as much as possible cuz you never know.

Edit: just saw that you're already late. No harm in trying cuz some still got II even though they were late.

They do seem to come pretty quick, but stay hopeful.

My stats: 3.5 sGPA, 3.6 cGPA, 27 MCAT (10B/10V/7P), OOS (bordering state), good EC's, tons of clinical experience, and my committee letter hasn't been sent yet.
Congrats! That pisses me off more that they rejected me with literally identical stats and said my 7 was too low in PS. Guess it wasn't meant to be 🙁

Oh no! I'm sorry, are you OOS, not from bordering state? I feel like the only thing that saved me was being from a bordering state. Don't let it get you down though, I've gotten rejected from 2 schools already for my low stats so I really got lucky here.

You sir/madam have a great outlook on things! I am from a bordering state, roughly an hour and 15 minutes away from WVU. Best of luck in your interview!! Dr. Hazard is an amazing lady and I really felt welcome by all of the students I met there.

II the same day you submitted?? wow! I submitted pretty late so I hope I still get some love :]

I actually submitted everything late Friday night, but completely forgot to email the picture until this morning. I got the II about three hours after completing my file.

lol madam, but yeah I got rejected by 12 schools last time I applied so I have to be optimistic lol Thank you! I'm not sure why they'd reject you, but good luck to you too!

Did anyone have there LORs in their checklist prior to II?

My secondary invite got sent to my spam (so dumb for not checking), and I was able to get it done and submitted it, but it was one day after the 2 week deadline...

I hope I still get considered because I really like this school.

For those who do not have WV Ties how did you complete this section? If you left it blank, were you still able to get a II?

If you are a non-WV Resident, please state your WV Ties ( Alumni, Siblings, Relatives, other).

If you are a resident please do not complete this section:

This field is limited to 4,000 Characters.

I just stated that I did not have any ties. I got a II still.

I think I left mine blank actually.

Scheduled my Interview (OOS, 3.8 both GPAs, 37) and I can't believe they already have interviews booked through all of November! They really front-load these interview invites!

Yes they go super quick since they grant so many interviews lol good luck! (though with those stats you probably don't need it lol)

I am asking because I've already gone past my 2 week deadline. I was wondering if they would still consider me if I submitted.
how does one have a secondary sitting out there for med school for 2 weeks and not make it a priority to get it done?

Just wanted to say my initial interview was scheduled for December 3rd. That was just yesterday. Today I got moved up to October 29th.

I would just like to state again that on here all I see is MCAT and GPA talk. I have a 3.96 gpa with a lower MCAT. I have received multiple interviews from schools. I'm starting to think if your primary is in accord with a schools mission and your work speaks towards that mission, well you have a darn good chance regardless of one test day. That statement comes from multiple deans I have met with through my positions in AMSA not from my own mouth.

Although, I try to do the ones with a time frame first, it is just hard when you work full-time, volunteer and have a zillion secondaries to fill. Also, I don't like to submit BS secondaries, I rather take the time to do a great job. So everyone has their reasons.. 🙂

You can thank me. I was trying to remove myself from my wait listed date of 9/29 and accidentally removed myself from my actual date of 10/29. There was nothing I (the school or interview broker) could do so now my interview is now on 12/4. I honestly wanted to cry, but seeing your post, I hope this is just fate (not just a horrible mistake lol) and I honestly wish you the best. Please make the best of it 😉

Oh no :'(

Does anyone know for sure if they will review your secondary and/or offer interviews before receiving your committee letter of recommendation?

Can anyone tell me which airport should I fly to?
The ticket price from TX to WV is absurdly high.... 😵

From what I remember from the earlier posts I think pittsburg and then drive down?

Hopefully someone will "like" if I'm right…or just correct me…hope I'm not misleading you in anyway!

No, you're right! Pittsburgh should be a lot cheaper. You can either rent a car and drive down or take the two buses that go from Morgantown to Pittsburgh and back (Megabus and Mountainline). The buses may be hard go sync with the interview though.

Hi I would like to know what you guys think my chances are with this school. I received the secondary 2 day ago and I'm gonna complete it anyways but I was just surprised since many people say secondary=interview more less and I'm an OOS with low mcat. Maybe they were really interested on my personal statement/background.
MCAT: 7PS, 5 V, 11 BS
sGPA: 3.92, cGPA: 3.98
Hispanic (non Mexican or PR), migrated to U.S. 5 years ago.
overcame adversity
medical scribe
research
human rights seminar in Austria
work with undeserved
shadowing experience and volunteer
spent time living on URM community

Oh I'm sorry. That's why I asked the question because I saw many people getting rejected and I got a secondary with a crappy mcat. I guess I just have to see what happens next. So you will say it is a good sign I received the secondary or I shouldn't hope with that mcat?

I have a similar GPA and 26 MCAT, and I received an interview for this cycle. I can't speak for the rest of the process, but most people are saying if you receive a secondary, you have a very high chance of receiving an interview. Keep in mind, they usually waitlist us OOS applicants, but I would say you need to complete the secondary.

I second this. If they sent you a secondary then go for it. It's not all a numbers game and WVU has a certain fit they look for. Someone with higher stats may get rejected pre or post-secondary because the school either wants to protect their yield or they think they're a safety school for the person. Also even if the person does have better stats than you, the school may feel you might be a better fit. If it was all numbers, there's many of us who simply wouldn't stand a chance. @oli33ful

Interview Invite this morning!! Added WVU on AMCAS August 4th, so that was a quick turnaround. My interview is scheduled for December 4th, the earliest available date, but I wait listed for November 6. Has anyone had luck with getting their date moved up to the wait listed date?

II this morning as well! I love this school, I'm so excited! Sent secondary in last week so they are fast... I have the same question as above^

Yes, a few ppl have had luck getting their dates moved and I got mine moved to 11/19 from 12/4, so it's definitely possible. Just know that once the switch is made, it is permanent so plan to be free for both your waitlisted date and your actual date.

Thank you for giving me hope. I'm trying to finish the secondary as soon as possible. I'll probably submit tomorrow. Good luck to you all.
