Unless your status changes to "not invited for interview" then you are not rejected.

So I was under the impression that acceptances went out, per AMCAS, on the 15h. On the iApply page, it says that the earliest acceptances can be sent out per AMCAS is the 16th. What gives?


Edit: I want to add that I freaking love this school, and was blown away by my interview day, so yes it does matter if it is the 15th vs 16th lol 😉

Umm try looking at airports in western Pennsylvania, but I don't know of any specifically =/

Pittsburgh is about 2 and 1/2 hours away. Just note there are tolls (between $15-$20 round trip). Columbus is also about 2 and 1/2 hours away, no tolls.

Rejected via portal yesterday and got the email today. Not as amazing as BU's elegant rejection email (10/10), but leagues above Pitt's (4/10). Overall, very satisfied with rejection experience. Would possibly re-apply.

Final Score: 7/10.

Agreed - Pitt's rejection email is pretty to the point. Kinda like a break up where someone is just like "You know, I just don't wanna be with you. It's not me, it's you. Ciao. Have a nice life." 🙂

Other options besides Pitt,

Detroit (DTW) - 3.5 hours (4.5 with Orange barrel city on I75 and I80)
Columbus (CMH) - 2 hours on I71
Toledo (TOL with connections to Chicago ORD)

Such is life haha. I actually really respect and appreciate schools that give out prompt decisions. Saves a lot of time and anxiety on our end. Keep your head up; you're still in the running!

I'm sorry 🙁 But maybe you are really high up on the alternates list and you'll get accepted later in the season! Anything is possible! 🙂

AND, everything happens for a reason. If you don't get into Case, it's cuz you're supposed to end up at some other amazing med school where you'll be super happy and do amazingly well!

Erie International Airport is from 1 1/2 to 2 hours away from the Case campus (depending on traffic conditions and speed). If you are looking for a cheaper flight than into CLE, it is very unlikely that ERI will be it, though. Buffalo International Airport (BUF) is 1.5 hours from Erie, so as a stretch it could be doable if you're desperate (that would be about a 3 hour drive total). There are often cheap flights into Buffalo.

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is a 2.5 hour drive from the Case area. Also very doable and often reasonably priced.

Akron-Canton Airport is only about an hour from Cleveland. Also small and unlikely to be cheaper. I see you already considered that one.

I've been feeling really sick the past three days, and my suite mate has the stomach flu, so I was convinced I was going to start puking this morning. So glad I made it through haha, now I just have to make it through a six hour shift at work.

I had a faculty interview at 2:00, then a student interview immediately after at 3:00. Because both of my interviews were in the afternoon, I got to sit in on a lecture and an IQ session during the break in the morning. If you have a morning faculty interview (like 9:30/10:00, bug your student interview will definitely be in the afternoon), you might not get to sit in on an IQ session. But I think most people got to sit in on one.

I had a morning interview, and a group of us still had time to go sit in on IQ after...I think everyone on my day was able to except one or two (who could have but didn't realize)

FYI, all of case's correspondence thus far has happened at 8am CST, so we're likely 1 hour away 🙂 not for certain though, they could be doing things differently for acceptances.
