Do schools receive an updated MCAT score after retakes for this cycle? So if I am currently on the waitlist and improve my score, would it be helpful this cycle?

Are there a lot of Creighton interviews left to be given?

Depends. A lot of schools wont take any MCAT scores after September 15th. If you've already been put on the waitlist (meaning you've been interviewed) then they will not consider your scores or else they would have waited to review your file until they came back

Withdrew my application - hope one of you guys gets my II!

So, for those of you who called to discuss your application, what exactly did you ask?
I just said I wanted to discuss the strength of my application, and then he pulled up my application, went through the whole thing, and gave me his thoughts. It was actually extremely helpful.

Do you mind if I ask what your stats are? Might use the open door policy to see what my chances are
Sure. cGPA is 3.46, 30 MCAT. I have an alumni who added a letter to my file as well, for what it's worth.
I got a LOR request from MAYO, a huge reach, so I think (hope) I have something (anything) special on my primary. 0 II so far.

I submitted most of my secondaries in August and sat on Creighton's for whatever reason. I researched the school quite a bit in the last few days and am regretting not submitting my secondary...

I know it's extremely late, do you think it would be worthwhile submitting the secondary? My app is very strong with "service to others" (police officer, paramedic, mental health counselor, etc.) which creighton seems to really look for. My stats are average, LizzyM ~69.

It's really, really late. I mean, if you've got the money just burning a hole in your pocket, go ahead, but by the time they read your application the class will be basically full.

Yeah : / thanks for the advice. I might as well not waste my time with the essays.

I think you should go for it. They send last II's in February so I think you still have a chance

+1

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take!

When I called, the adcom member did a quick run-through of my application and said "hm GPA is good, MCAT looks solid, etc." and then he asked me about my non-clinical volunteering activities, so I explained them. On second thought, I should have asked how competitive I was, but he said that I had been passed over until that point but was deemed competitive for a re-review. Hope that helps 🙂

Take advantage of open house day by calling in and asking if they think you should submit. They interview through February so I think you should go for it. Your life experiences (calling them ECs is not accurate, lol) are amazing

I would assume the person is interviewing tomorrow? Or decisions on interviews come out tomorrow?

With those who have done the application review over the phone.. who have you been speaking with?

also - what is a silent rejection? Just a letter in the mail vs. something else?
A silent rejection is the complete lack of acknowledgement that you even applied. No interview, no hold, and no rejection....ever.

Think of the last time you texted your crush and never got a response...then imagine your career goals depend on them texting you back.

I have heard from many people that 3 weeks after the interview (that monday) the decision is e mailed out. I interviewed Oct 31st and that day would be today for me but my letters are still up. are they just behind?

Yup I received my decision that third monday after! Sounds about right.

Do you think that Creighton is going to be sending out another wave of II this week?

When I discussed my application over the phone they mentioned doing another review of applications after Thanksgiving

No interview yet! 31 and 3.9 and been complete since early August! Should I be worried?

From what I can observe, they usually send out II the first Sunday/Monday of every month. Considering tomorrow is the 1st and we had a holiday this past week, perhaps they will be sending out II's today/tomorrow.

I have read previously that some people receive II's late in the year and early in the year and are accepted (not waitlisted). Perhaps that's after a few people that withdrawn their application but I am just assuming. I'm in the same boat though.

Come one Jesuits, love me!!!!! Completed 9/02, IS

Has anyone called the office recently/just have an idea about when the next batch of acceptances will be sent out? Interviewed Oct 31.

Can anyone who has interviewed give a brief explanation on what your interview day and interview was/were like ?

Creighton's interview is as easy as it gets. Extremely conversational and laid back. Two half hour interviews, one with a med student, one with a faculty member.
Having interviewed twice @ Creighton, it's not very stressful at all if you know how to answer the general interview questions. Some faculty members may give you a harder time than others, but across the board it seems to be very conversational and painless.

First two hours of the day, prior to the interviews, some deans and a financial aid officer talk to you regarding medical school. After the interviews and lunch, you tour the soon-to-be-defunct medical center, and medical school campus.

I agree with everything notchandlerparsons says above. My faculty interview had basically personally transcribed my AMCAS app and went through my activities and personal statement, but no questions were out to get you. The student just wanted to get to know you a little better, and make sure you'd be comfortable in Omaha (I'm an East Coaster). It was nice to get the interview out of the way before the tour as well -- I'm not sure why more schools don't do this because I literally black out from anxiety on tours before interviews lol.

No love from the Jesuits 🤔

silence rejection? :dead:

Others have reported that Creighton still has a big wave of IIs to send out this month! So you may still hear back! 🙂
It seems that Creighton really encourages updates, so if you have any, be sure to send them along now and maybe it will flag down their attention for an interview this round!

Complete 9/22, OOS and no news.

I did the open hours thing though and the admissions guy said I had a good chance at an interview and to send an update on my community service before December (I'm assuming when the next wave of interviews will go out)

Don't know what to think anymore.. I am a non-traditional applicant-graduated in Dec 2013 so I really do not have updates--my app and personal statement is filled with my current activities. blah!

I was reading previous CU and apparently this school does have a reputation of silence rejections :/

I just need to get accepted somewhere!!

Similar situation here. Does anyone know if they are still semi-receptive to letters of interest/update hybrid?

Oct 31st interviewee here. Just called them and they had my decision! I noticed my thank you for visiting campus message had disappeared.
