Closed file! They're also each only 30 minutes, so there will definitely be like 80% of your application/things about you that you probably won't talk about, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. It's very conversational, but they also may ask you some questions as well, so it's a good mix.

Depends on your interviewer. Mine was certainly not like what you stated above.

Same here. I don't think I spoke about my application at all. Every interviewer is different and has their own way.
 
My interview there recently had a different feel to the schools I've already visited. Since the interviewers are blind having not read your file, scores, or anything about you, the conversation or questions can be about anything. Before the interview portion, we were told if our interviewers liked us, they might give us their email. My physician interviewer spent a lot of time telling me why I should select GW over Georgetown, instead of me getting to highlight why they should accept me in the first place. My med student interviewer was an intense eye contact person, but I had to have passed his "test" as he gave me his email at the end of my interview if I had any further questions. My conclusion to this, and take it however you will, is that the purpose of the GW interview is different that those at other schools you spend an hour with answering questions about your application and experiences. How that difference measures/quantifies/scores us, I really don't know.
 
Fingers crossed that the rest of us 9/17ers and people who interviewed that week will hear this week? 🙂 A ladybug flew onto my face today, and ladybugs supposedly mean good luck, so maybe good news is coming!

And for those who have interviewed already, would you be willing to share about how the interview day went? I understand that the day goes from ~9am-3pm and there are two closed file interviews, but anything else you'd be able to share would be most welcome! I'm hoping to minimize the chance of any surprises. 🙂

I interviewed last Friday. This was my first interview and I was terribly anxious in the week leading up to it, so I was pleasantly surprised when it ended up being a very low-stress day. All of the faculty I encountered were kind and welcoming, and the students were genuinely interested in sharing their experiences and opinions with us (one even told me that if I get into a cheaper school, I should just go there haha).

The day started off with short presentations by various departments and a tour of the academic building, followed by a catered lunch with med students and then the interviews. You're allowed to leave as soon as your last interview was over, which was nice since I was done by 1:30. The interviews themselves were, as others have said, very conversational; no surprise questions or anything I felt unprepared for.

Still waiting to hear back, interviewed 9/17 :/ no waitlist on my portal. Gave them a call, they said they don't know when the committee meets about who since it's confidential and technically they do allow 8-10 weeks for a decision. It's been 7 weeks for me, so hopefully soon!

Oct 02 batch! Really loved the school and people... Can't wait to hear back, but it's such a long process..,,
The individual at our interview session said they usually take 8 weeks.
 
Is GW just not emailing anyone with decisions? regardless of waitlist/acceptance?

Rejected as well, complete mid July. First rejection to actually hurt a little bit, but on to the next. Good luck to everyone else still in the running!

Guess we know when the "later date" is....
 
Rejected, OOS.

App complete 8/13. On Hold for Re-Review 9/8.

513MCAT (11,10,14,10), 3.97 masters gpa, lower ugpa
 
Rejected. Complete too long ago to remember.
 
Rejected today 11/5 (stats in signature), was placed on hold for re-review on 10/5, after being complete on 9/23
 
Lol, sent an update letter yesterday and got the rejection notice as well. Good luck to everyone.

Complete in late july and put on hold for re-review soon thereafter. Was expecting to see myself rejected in light of all the other rejections today but am pleasantly surprised to see that i'm still being re-reviewed. Such a strange, opaque process this is. I've been assuming that my re-review is simply a rejection in disguise, but maybe there's still hope after all. Good luck with your other schools to the folks who were rejected today.
 
Any survivors of the rejection bomb that just went off? If so, when were you complete? (wondering if they just have not gotten to my ~8/18 app)
 
Rejected after being on re-review since August. Complete end of July.
