Thank you!! Same to you!! I love DC...I do NOT love how expensive the city itself is...holy moly...I spent a small fortune just on food alone!

Very true! f I am so lucky enough to be accepted:xf::xf:, that would be a serious stress issue!! I'm sold on the school, but the housing scares me!

From talking to students, most bite the bullet the first year/2 and choose to pay more and live very close while you will be actually at the school a large amount. Once clinicals begin most move further outwards.

If lucky enough to be accepted and attend I will choose to probably do the same.

do we know what interview date range they are giving out decisions for currently?

I've been told 8-10 weeks post interview :/ :/

Has anyone sent an update/LOI letter post-interview? I really loved this school, the people and the area. Should be hearing back soon but have been hesitant to send something given the differing opinions for these type of letters.

Quick question for accepted folks who are starting the financial aid process. On the Financial Aid Request Form, does anyone know
1. Where we can find our GW Student ID # (if we even have one at this point)
2. What our start date is?
3. What our graduation date is?

If we have none of this info, I can just fill in the blanks with N/A or something.

Thanks!

I have my first medical school interview at GWU this week. Any advice?
Just be yourself! You get to talk to current students over lunch just before the interviews. Everyone is so happy and positive that it relaxes you and puts you in a good frame of mind. Good luck!

Thanks. I am both equally nervous and excited.

It seems like they are receptive to them since their portal has submission field only for updates!

Does anyone have an idea of how many people are pulled off the waitlist each year? and is the waitlist ranked?

Hmmm I'm not sure what happened either - I was expecting to hear back much later... I don't see that anyone else heard back today.

Guys, it's my GW secondary-completion 4-month anniversary today (complete ~8/15)! We have been in a "it's complicated" relationship for 4 months now.Guess what I get?? That's right....continued silence from my GW bae.

Congrats to all those accepted and who were invited to II!!!! That's so exciting. Apparently my GW bae forgot our anniversary... 😉

5 month anniversary update: continuous silence from GW, although she has been two-timing it with a lot of other people so idk how I feel about her now...
Beginning to lose hope that GW will ever come back to me.
Thinking about holding a party for the 6-month anniversary in Feb. but if I continue to have radio silence I may lose hope that we can rekindle the flames....
Anyone else not feeling the love?

Me! Complete since august and been on hold for re-review since the beginning of time lol

Interviewed the last week of October and placed in alternate pool :/

talked with admissions today. guy I was talking to was extremely non-informative. It's like his job was to abstain from giving out information.

"If on hold, when will we hear back?"
-anytime until the interview season is over

"When is the last interview"
-that depends on the committee, they can interview until whenever they please. they can extend or cut short the interview season however they like (I call BS)

"When would be the time to give up hope?"
-anytime until the interview season is over.

Thanks.

That sucks...I guess they want to keep us on the hook until the very end in case they decide they want us. But I lol'd at "'When would be the time to give up hope?' 'anytime until the interview season is over.'" XD

Those of us who interviewed around November 19 should be hearing back any time now, correct? Or have they not been sticking to the 8-10 week time frame?

If you get waitlisted, do you get an email? Or, does your status just change on the portal?

I feel like they're really behind. I'm past the 11 week mark and haven't heard anything still :/

Wahhhhhh, I interviewed in early Jan. and have so long left to go 😛

The 8 week mark for me is next week - cue the slowing of time and medley of anxiety/fear/hopeful-but-not-wanting-to-get-my-hopes-up/gotta-be-realistic-but-a-gal-can-dream-can't-she?/etc.

Good luck to all those waiting 🙂

This happened to me at 8 weeks (Friday) even though I had no expectation of hearing until 10 weeks or later. Who needs sleep anyways? Good luck!

So I was waitlisted back in November. I'm currently holding one other acceptance and waiting to hear from another post-interview.
After a couple of months of thinking on it, I think GW is my top choice!
Anybody know if they are receptive to letters of intent and if simply uploading it to the portal would be sufficient for something like that? I was thinking maybe sending it to the Dean could be better, but I didn't even know if they are receptive to them or not.

Good luck to you too!

From the looks of things, I definitely don't expect to hear anything until 10 weeks or even later, but basically

Sigh. Interviewed 10/30, got the alternate pool email this morning.
