You're correct. I emailed Ms. Walk today to see if there were any new developments so we will see.

I believe that Ms. Walk is out on vacation or something like that. I remember she had her vacation planned for early May when I interviewed on 4/19. Also, I called and spoke to Sharmon Jones today. My application has not gone to committee yet and she did say there were many other files to review. Also, she said that at this point the class is full. She also noted that it keeps fluctuating and that they will continue to accept students until classes start.

Oh ok gotchu now. Did Sharmon Jones state if the class was full with everyone that has received a decision or including out of committee? I'm just trying to get a feel of how that plays out.

Yea. Ms.Walk is on vacation. I emailed her and she sad that's she's in Texas right now.

What the heck... Did Ms Jones say the class is full as in no more interviews?

Because there are a bunch of people who haven't heard back post interview yet...

She did not specifically discuss which applicants constitute the "full" class. I would imagine it is probably people that have been "accepted" irrespective of whether they have received the decision or not officially. And yes, the class is full even without post interview updates. Like I said, I interviewed 4/19, my file has not gone to committee for review yet, but as it stands the class is full. I believe that means they have extended enough acceptances to fill the class. Spaces will become available I believe as people opt to go elsewhere for their medical education. And then spots will open up for more people to be extended offers.
 
I visited Howard today cause I had to turn something in and I definitely saw Mrs. Walk in the hallway of the med school. But maybe it was just someone that looked like her.
And I believe they gave the last batch of acceptees till the 25 to make their decision, so maybe movement wont happen till then.
Edit: Also I believe the BS/MD students are still waiting on their MCAT scores and that has a big impact on how many BS/MD students will be joining the class. That could impact the spaces left in the class.

Does an "out of committee" email received today imply waitlist or acceptance?
 
Who all has an out committee email and still awaiting the committees decision?
 
I think it might be a good idea to keep a list of all those with an out of committee email as of March who have not received a decision?

OOC date is actually 5/3 for me
 
Can you get rejected post OOC? Even if they say we can call once letter is signed?
 
I actually just called the office - luckily I got through - and was told that the class was not necessarily full, but "fluid". And also Judith Walk would have more information when she gets back from vacation on when we could hear a decision potentially.

I don't know how to feel about these politically discrete answer. "Fluid"
 
Has anyone tried going to Howard and the admission office to talk to them?? Debating whether or not to go next week

Well if Ms. Walk will be back on Monday, then maybe we'll get decisions sometime next week.
 
Anyone who has received an out of committee, I would check your mailbox for the physical letter. I received mine today. Waitlisted.

To be honest, that's probably why even though I was told the class size was fluid. Granted same scenario at Meharry when they filled their class back in January and waitlisted afterwards. I could be wrong though.

I'm so sorry to hear that, hopefully spots open up soon. We interviewed together and I have yet to receive any further correspondence, apart from the OOC email two weeks ago.
