2015-2016 Stanford University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Waitlisted, IA: 10/15! Good luck to everyone else.

Waitlisted, interviewed 10/15. Ouch this has been a rough week, at least it wasn't a rejection tho!

Been complete since mid August and it's been silence since then. Not sure if that means there's some hope or just a silent rejection.

I was complete way back in July and got the II very recently. You never know!

This question probably has already been asked, but if we're interviewing in February - what are the chances of Stanford still having spots left for us?
or are we simply interviewing to be on the waitlist...
Not that I would try any less, but just want to know my position haha.

I think they interview into April.

Does Stanford's MMI allow note taking?

Thanks!

I'm having a hard time logging into the "Details of Your Interview Day" page with the given username and password. It says one or the other is "invalid". Has anyone else had luck with this?

I figured I'd ask here first since it seems like people are having a hard time reaching the office...

I had that problem too. In my case, it was because when I copied and pasted the username or password, I was also copying a space, which was counted as part of the login. Carefully highlight only what you need to login, and nothing more (i.e., just the letters and numbers of the username and password. No spaces before or after). That's what solved the problem for me.

Anyone interviewing here next week? I've nabbed an SDNer or two at every interview I've been to, anybody willing to chime up? (PM me!)

I just got an II invite this morning! Complete in July so came as a bit of a surprise! Only one date in february would show up for me though...

Congrats!!!

Did they direct you to the "original portal" to schedule your interview or were you invited to join a new website?

In other words, does your original portal have any changes since receiving the II?

The portals address doesn't change but yes, the site itself changes quite a bit after the invite is issued.

Waitlisted.. interviewed 10/27. Trying to stay positive that it's not a rejection 🙂

Is anyone rejected post-interview or is everyone who is not offered admission just put to the wait list?

For those who've already interviewed, can you recommend me some decent hotels that aren't ridiculously expensive?
Thanks!

I've used the Country Inn before, they're pretty decent, though a bit farther from campus (though there's convenient public transit available). Ask for the Stanford rate, you can get a small discount.

Check out the stanford guest house. I haven't stayed there in several years but when I did stay there, it was very affordable. There's also a free shuttle that takes you to the main campus, but the shuttle only runs on weekdays.

Stanford's wait list is not as bad as you may think. My roommate (which carried a 4.0 GPA from a top private school in CA) was put on wait list last year. He eventually got in. n=1, but there is possibility.

Judging from some of the other SDNers who have been waitlisted here, I feel honored to be grouped together with such amazing applicants. We're in good company!

roughly ~7000 applicants, ~450 interviews, and matriculating class is 90.
They only interview into February, not April.

do you know if they even send out rejections post-interview this early?

ACCEPTED!!!! Got the call last night at 10:30 pm ET!!!!!!!!!
(Interviewed December 11th)

Still in absolute shock and disbelief. :heckyeah:

Hey! I'm in your boat. I interviewed on 11 Dec and got the call at around 10pm last night. However I haven't gotten any form of written confirmation of my acceptance... did you also get an email or something, or just the phone call? #paranoid
