Congrats! I must have missed the October dates. Then I guess they're still making decisions for people who interviewed at the end of October?? 😛

There are still early and mid October interviewees who haven't heard back.

I think they can't accept any updates until later in the cycle? I would confirm with admissions office though

Any folks who interviewed in November still waiting to hear back?

Interviewed 10/24 and still haven't heard anything, so tomorrow will be 11 weeks of silence. My best friend interviewed 9/26 and got her acceptance letter on 12/14 but it was dated 12/1. I called last Tuesday (10 weeks and 1 day post interview) and they said they've had a delay in processing and it could take up to 10 weeks??

Ahh damn, was gonna send them an interest letter disguised as an update, lol. I haven't been placed on hold or rejected either. I'm just in limbo and wanted to do something that would hopefully get my app looked at again 🙁

I too am curious about their post-interview hold statistics. MSAR says they typically accept around 25 waitlisted students per cycle. But MSAR has no information about the usual number of waitlisted students and I'm blanking on the statistics they gave during interview. Moreover, seems there's a good chunk of people who are on here and received a post-interview hold - me included, today, sadly. Does anyone know the number?

Seems like some mid October interviewees haven't heard anything unless they just didn't update in this thread. Not sure it means anything at this point. Process doesn't seem strictly chronological.

On hold, mid October interview. Not surprised, I could tell my first interviewer didn't like me from the start and was going after me for half the interview :/ Oh well, luck of the draw I guess. Good luck to everyone else!

MSAR also says that there are only between 15-25 waitlist positions in a typical cycle. I can't believe that is an accurate number. Again, any reliable information other people recall or have been informed of would be of interest to many here!

Were you just admitted or are you a current student? Do you know any of their previous statistics about how many people are usually on the waitlist?

I think we need to petition for a change in nomenclature for Penn State's status categories pre and post II.
Reason: Causing mass panic and confusion whenever we see a "HOLD" post

I got a pre-II hold an hour ago too. The language in the email has that "we're gonna run out the clock" feel.

For those of us on pre-II hold I just looked through last year's thread and it looks like some people got II after being on hold towards the end of February
And II were sent out as late as early March, with the final interview date being mid-March
