Regardless of which school you're applying to, admissions committees consist of 10 or less people... they have a lot of applications to go through and as someone mentioned, the process is not linear. All of us have had to do our fair share of waiting around and obsessing over the silence, but unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about it. You may have been marked complete over a month ago and someone else may have been marked complete yesterday, and you will have heard nothing while that person got an immediate response.
I submitted 7/23 and not complete.Anyone complete here who submitted 7/26?

That's when I received mine too and silence still! Best of luck to all of you! 🙂Damn, That's when I received mine! I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya 🙂
+2! Getting nervous lolThat's when I received mine too and silence still! Best of luck to all of you! 🙂
I submitted 8/4 and still nothing yet either... So you're not alone if that helps! So I submitted the secondary 8/8 but still haven't received the official confirmation yet. I know most people have said it takes about 4 weeks but its approaching 6 weeks now. Should I contact admissions?

I'm in the same boat! Sent the admissions office a quick note asking for an update. They are probably so bogged down by applications currently - they have (understandably) not responded.
I submitted end of July and don't have an email. I'm somewhat worried that all of the parts of my application aren't in but I don't want to bother them :/
congrats!!! when did you submit? did you get a complete/under review e-mail prior to the II? thanks!II JUST NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
submitted my application w/letters on 8/10.. still no complete e-mail..
Submitted early August and no complete email either. They were kind in updating me though:
"Hello xxx,
Thank you for your interest in the Chicago Medical School. I apologize for the delay. Due to the volume of applications we are verifying them as complete in the order in which they were received. When your application is verified and complete, you will be notified via email. Thank you for your patience during this time. Have a good day."
hmmm, I have received no form of communication from them at all. I am starting to wonder if I should call and leave a message.. I did try calling admissions office, but seems like you only really have an option to leave a detailed message and they will get back to you.
Congrats! That is awesome. What were your stats?
Dat MCAT dohThanks! sGPA and cGPA: 3.6, MCAT: 524. Submitted 7/22, complete 8/12
I emailed them, but at this point I think we just need to be patient. Given that their overall app volume is so large, I'd imagine we're not going to be at any disadvantage.
so odd that someone complete 8/10 seems to have gotten a complete email today.. makes me wonder if they go in order of applications received?
SameSubmitted end of July and still no complete e-mail.... 😵
Same
So I left a message with admissions office, and they called me back. They said that they send out complete e-mails as adcom reviews files and that they have quite a bit of files this cycle.. so we just have to wait it out 😎Submitted end of July and still no complete e-mail.... 😵
This is a good point. CMS is a school with one of the highest number of applicants. Around this time, admissions will be juggling interview invites, decisions, and interview events in addition to screenings. Although the application cycle brings out the worst of the worst in terms of anxiety, the best thing to do is to try to relax.
Other things:
-there is no way to check application status online
-there is no indication of future IIs in any previous communication/e-mails
Hi cysticduct,
Would you say the curriculum gets tougher as time progresses or is RFU a school where it's hard from day 1? I know at some schools they go super hard starting at the end of the first month while others are easier for months 1-2 and then get harder. By month 2 of M1 are is it as hard as it gets, or does it get even more difficult over time? I've seen the curriculum, and I know "hard" classes like anatomy, biochem, and embryo start immediately but its still not clear to me whether the pace increases...?
II just a little bit ago!!
I received my acknowledgment of submission 7/22 and my completion email 8/9.
I can finally breathe a little bit. Whew.

When did you get the "preliminary screening complete" email?
The interviews are also formal in the States. I am not sure how often applicants send a note/email, but I have seen several threads on this topic in the past. I have found this article written by the associate dean of admissions at Case Western: http://www.usnews.com/education/blo...ite-a-medical-school-interview-thank-you-note.
I usually would not bother with writing a letter, but Rosalind really stood out.
Cannot talk about the MMI. The interview has a tour, an information session, QnA with current students, and lunch at the end of the interview. As for advice, be yourself and relax. It's a very relaxed day.Can you please discuss what the interview session was like. Is there a tour? How is it structured? How long is the entire thing? What were the MMIs like? Any advice?

Finally got my complete e-mail today. Now its time to wait to see if they give me an II
When were you complete?
Complete sometime around August 1st
Nice man. Wish I was complete, 7/26 here
Anyone else having issues contacting the admissions office? Have called a few times and it always goes to an answering machine. Have left a message with no response.
