2016-2017 Tulane University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
"While some applicants are accepted into the class immediately following this initial committee review, the great majority of applicants are placed into the Acceptance Range category." Is it just a normal waitlist or do they seem to accept more students off of it than other schools?

I feel like they have booked all their interviews...

Edit: spelling
Yeah they were booking as far out as a February a few weeks ago per posters here. I can't imagine they have much left.

Can anyone talk about the standardized patient interviews and what that was like??

It was pretty chill. They don't ask that you diagnose the patient or anything, they just want to see if you can talk to people. I can't tell you too much about the scenario but basically you're just talking to a standardized patient about one of their concerns for a few minutes. Really low stress environment.

Couldn't have said it any better. I'm in the same boat, and wondering if letters of interest will be of any benefit this early on. Out of curiosity, what are your stats?
High MCAT 519/ Low GPA 3.5/ non-traditional (6 years out of undergraduate/non-science major/career) /not great ECs 50 hours shadowing 150 hours volunteering/ no lab experience or publications. I was going to hold off on letters of interest until March/May. Trying to build up more ECs in the meanwhile. My lack of lab/research experience is detrimental.

Rejected Pre Interview just now finished early september

How long did it take to be told of acceptance/rejection after the interview? More than 2 weeks? The wait is killing me...

Dang, shoot. My friend interviewed there on 10/13 too...he hasn't gotten any email yet today.

Any completed in July peeps still around?:lame:
July here as well. I'm surprised there are still so many of us since I imagine they've booked the overwhelming majority of their interviews (poster on September 15th said the earliest II date they could book was February) and most people that were complete early were systematically granted IIs or axed pretty quickly in the cycle.

Yeah. I'm just holding on to the hope that they like me enough to still keep me around because otherwise, they would have axed me. Which they don't seem to have any problem doing

Interviewed 10/3 and still haven't heard anything, now I'm confused 😵

Where do updates, status changes, and interview invites show up on the website? Or do we just get an email, and a link to a new website like some other schools?

For those of you who interviewed, how did they notify you of your acceptance/acceptance-range decision? I interviewed here recently and am (impatitently) counting down the days until I hear a decision😵

E-mail, at least that's the case for "acceptance range". Good luck

rejected too.. this one was probably the first rejection where it really bummed me out bc I thought I fit their mission well and genuinely loved the school. still waiting on my first II 🙁

been complete at most schools since early august.. numerous holds 😵

rejected just now, but i voted for our first female presidential candidate today so it won't get me down hunni!!!
Hillary Clinton is in no way the first female presidential candidate of the United States. That honor belongs to Victoria Woodhull.

man....i'm approaching the 1 month mark since my interview and heard NOTHING yet! I am ready to accept waitlist/rejection and let the bad news (the election) keep coming today.
