I feel like this waiting period itself is a very humbling experience. On my interview day, as soon as I got out of the room with my EXCOM, he told me that I was a solid applicant and that he will strongly advocate for me. I think that must have made me too over-confident and this waiting period has definitely given me a reality check.

That was the message I got at a different school, and I started getting anxiety when it took a while to get the official message of acceptance (which did come). That wasn't what I was told at UW though... So, in your situation I would remain confident.

This just gave me anxiety.
I agree, it lets me reflect how honorable and privileging it is to practice medicine. *Cheesy

I still think your EXCOM member saying they would advocate for you is a really good sign... If EXCOM members advocating for you doesn't mean you will get in then there would be no real purpose of having an EXCOM in the first place.

Sorry to hear 🙁 would suggest getting out of the house and treating yourself for getting this far. It's what I did for another rejection post-interview and it helped me put it in perspective, like someone else said. Best wishes [emoji110]

I feel like I became a "regular" at my local pub last cycle, as I went to have a beer for every rejection. Keep your head up, this is a numbers game a lot of the time, and a roll of the dice. I'm sure many of us will be joining you in the not too distant future in the rejection pile
