Low key maybe you should ask her to marry you right now and then answer the secondary tomorrow and say my fiancée is going to Emory Law and that'll probably count as family.

I included everything related to health: volunteering, working, and shadowing.I may be over-thinking this, but what are we all putting for "health-related" experiences? I have working in a psychiatric inpatient unit, and clinical research where I consented patients.... do I include shadowing? I guess I'm asking what are they really looking for here?

Briefly describe your interest in Emory and the Emory degree program you have selected.
This part of the prompt seems perfect for dual degree programs. But a regular MD degree is sorta the default, there's nothing unique about it, so I'm puzzled how I can go about answering this question. Like I get for MD/PhD you can say you love research and for MD/MPH you love public health, etc. But for MD only? I want to be a doctor? Lol. How did you guys go about this?

Should we receive an email saying we are complete? Or are people just saying the date they submitted the secondary and LOR received??
Ok thanks! About how long did it take after you got your letters to say complete? You can log in to the portal and check your status. Then click on communication status to get your complete date. I had issues with my LOR packet, so my complete date was 8/4, a bit after I submitted my secondary.
These kinds of things fuel my nightmares....Do that sh** right now.Omfg, I had EMORY done for like a month and I just forgot to pay......
Yeah i submitted it ASAP. FML. Hope it doesen't cause problems. Anyone know if submitting late August is still good? These kinds of things fuel my nightmares....Do that sh** right now.
Fr. you just caused a ton of people to open their emory portal lmao. These kinds of things fuel my nightmares....Do that sh** right now.

I couldn't figure out why I wasn't complete at one school and it was my LORs - I had emailed them well over a week or two before and they never got back to me, so I forgot to submit then. It happens. Also, better to have submitted the secondary and not paid - there are a million reasons why someone may wait to pay (need the money, etc.), so it doesn't necessarily show that you aren't interested.
lol literally just did that with Penn yesterday.. my dream school -_-Omfg, I had EMORY done for like a month and I just forgot to pay......
Hmm...I didn't have that problem. Maybe contact admissions, at least so they know you care about the details, even if nothing on your or their end can be done about it.Did anyone else have problems getting their photo upload to orient correctly? Mine always seems to be 90 degrees off no matter what I do. Does it matter?

I have no idea why that works or what made you think of doing that in the first place....but it worked!!! Thank you so much!I did that and they said they couldn't help. I upload my picture to Facebook, then saved it from there and it stayed in an upright position after that.

This happened to me for TWO schools. I feel you! It will be okaylol literally just did that with Penn yesterday.. my dream school -_-
MD secondaries submitted before labor day are still "on time". Not early, but not late.Anyone else still muddling through the secondary? Is now considered late for Emory?
(Also, for some reason, every time I see that $120 fee, I become concerned even though I know it's piddle compared to tuition)
Congrats! Complelte date?II today! MCAT 521, GPA 3.95. So exciting!!!!!September 11th is so soon....
So I don't know much about committee letters but they were racist to you in the interview for the letter? But gave you the letter anyway? I'm sorry that happened to you, sounds sucky.Hey guys been a long time lurker. Got my secondary from Emory yesterday. Bit of an issue. I am not using my committee Letter I had an issue where the interview was. well racist. So im not very comfortable to using the letter. I know this is a solid reason not to. However, I feel like I am using the victim card if i email my explanation. I still have the letter packet on AMCAS and what do you guys think about me saying I am willing to send it to Emory if they still would like it after my explanation as to why I am not sending it in the first place.

so i think they are obligated to write the letter regardless of how it goes. yeah they made racist comments about the physcians i shadowed and implied that because of those physicians i may look like a less appealing candidate myself. I will probably not go into detail about it. i dont see a reason to unless questioned during my i Im not trying to play the victim card but I need a solid reason for why im not using it. and i had no intention of not using it until that interview. I have solid individual letters professors who have known me since freshman year.So I don't know much about committee letters but they were racist to you in the interview for the letter? I think that your plan sounds fine - in my head I would say something like "I am uncomfortable using this committee letter due to racially disparaging remarks directed towards me in my interview with the committee." Or something similar.
i reported it to the university and the dean of the science college here knows about the issue. he told me personally he would have those individuals reprimanded for their actions. I apparently am not the only one who this happened to though so...There's a big issue at hand if your university, or representatives of the university, subjected you to a different recommendation process on the basis of your race.
