Interesting. Mine had three questions!

They are really short though (200 characters) and they just ask pointed questions about your interests.

I think it is because I applied MSTP. They just said they need letters of recommendation and that's it.

For OOS people receiving secondaries from TC, what were your stats/when did you do the campus selection, if you don't mind sharing? Just wondering if there's a screen involved in the batches of secondaries going out.

Also curious about this. For what it's worth, I'm OOS, LM 70-72, and did campus selection (TC only) on July 16th. I got the weird AMCAS verification email that others have mentioned, but nothing since!

Chose a campus 7/2, and just barely got the email saying that they got my primary 8/17 and that it would take 3-4 weeks to screen. Stats in signature. This whole application process just blows my mind with how unorganized it seems. :bang:

I got that screening email about 4 weeks after I finished my primary. Got the secondary a few days after.

II yesterday. I was complete on 8/7. I am OOS, but I have strong IS ties.

Hi, DaGhost or Thoroughbred_Med, would you mind sharing the MSTP prompts? I'm trying to prewrite. Thanks either way and good luck!
I got you!

Wait... it won't let me see my secondary after I submitted it. Ugh, sorry!!

There were only three questions though and it the prompts were unusual in that they only allowed 200 characters! So shouldn't take you very long regardless. I sent it back the same day and didn't pre-write. Simple research interests essays! Once of them definitely was to list the faculty you're interested in, so you could go ahead and do that research.
good luck!

Ahh no worry, thanks for the info regardless! 🙂 Appreciate your effort.

How selective is their pre-secondary screening process? After a LONG wait, I just received an invite to fill out their secondary, but Im wondering if it's worth my time and money. If they're super selective, it tells me they are seriously interested in me and that it could be worth it. I know some schools say they $creen before $ending their $econdarie$, but it seems like most of their screens say little about their actual interest in an applicant.

From what I have been able to find, their pre-screening process is simply getting over the 499 MCAT minimum. They are extremely selective towards in-state students, but their biggest screening is usually post-secondary. It is up to you if you want to spend the money, but if you aren't serious about the school I wouldn't apply. I'm out of state and have an extremely low shot of getting an interview, but I've respected the neuroscience work they produce for so long that I'm willing to throw the money for even the slightest chance of admission.

Hope that helps and goodluck!

Thank you, that helped! I just wonder why it took so long (well-over a month after selecting Twin-Cities) to receive the secondary.

IS applicant- 3.55 cGPA (strong upward trend) and 515 MCAT (130/125/130/130) Lizzy M score: 70

Got rejected today (first one of the cycle). Very shocked because this school is my state school and I thought I would at least get an interview since I only want to live/work in MN and expressed that in my secondaries.

Sorry to hear that. Your stats make me nervous about my own prospects, but it looks like you've set yourself up for success a lot of different schools. Best of luck to you in the coming months!

Wow that is really shocking and disappointing. I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you have good luck at other schools!

I know you expressed desire to work in MN but are you actually a resident? I saw in your post history you called yourself a MN and SD resident but I’m fairly certain you can’t have residency in more than one state

I grew up/graduated high school in MN but am a full-time student at a private school in SD. The rules of IS preference for USD says graduating from a SD university/strong ties to the state (I have both), so technically I have IS "preference" for MN and SD. Good luck to everyone else applying here. I'm hearing Goro's quotes echoing in my head: "Consider you're rejected until you hold that acceptance letter in your hand."

IS here also and was rejected with a LizzyM of 68

Did you guys get an email or any other confirmation stating that your application file is complete? I checked the status and they've received all my materials (three weeks ago), so hopefully that means it is complete.

In my experience, there was only a payment confirmation email but not an "application complete" email. As long as it says everything has been received, you should have nothing to worry about!

So I got the secondary on Day 0 at 10:15am and it states "You are strongly encouraged to submit all of the required supplemental materials within 2 weeks of receiving this invitation." Do you think if I submit it on Day 14 after 10:15am (so technically just over 2 weeks) I'm flat out wasting $100?

I had it submitted by Day 14 at 5:40pm, but damn it if it wasn't my best set of secondary responses for the past few months. It seems like stats aren't a shoo-in here like they are some places, so I'd say if your responses are well thought-out you're all good, my friend!

I received that verified email on 8/17 for Twin Cities but I still have yet to receive the invitation to complete the secondary. Is anybody else in the same boat? (Not MSTP, just MD btw).

Yep, I received that email 8/17, too. Still no secondary

Anyone heard a verification for interview dates? I submitted my dates 7/21..
Assuming you meant 8/21, me too. Still waiting to hear.... I called admissions and they said they would have the interview coordinator call me back but she never did

What number did you call? I've been trying to get a hold of them for a few days and haven't gotten an answer.

Just the admissions number listed on the website. The first time I called I did not get through to anyone.

I called a few times and emailed a few times and never got a straight answer. But my interview date was finally confirmed this morning, 9 days after filling out my interview request form.
