This was well put. Some schools might have more opportunities than others but at the end of the day, you have to create your own roads to your destinations.
Honestly the discussion on this thread makes me proud that there will be some intelligent and well deserving physicians in a few years. You’re all so brilliant and articulate with your views without being vile or condescending.

Behind every profile is someone wishing and hoping to be selected. I cannot stress that every single person looking at this thread is worthy of being what you envision of yourself. My wish to you all is that you get in. But more importantly, my wish is that if you're trajectory to medicine is not Howard to recognize that it is not because you are not worthy but because what is for you is somewhere else.
To my future peers, please be mindful that if Howard is not for you there is someone out there hoping for a chance. Be kind to them and give them an opportunity to tell their stories in front of the committee if you know that Howard is not a place you see yourself at. The longer we hold our spots the less chance someone else might have. We all deserve this opportunity.
