2019-2020 Mayo Clinic (Alix), Minnesota

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Mayo is officially canceled.

No actually though. This is so unprofessional and also against key principles in medicine. When there's a complication in surgery, you go outside and update the family! You don't ignore their questions for hours and leave them hanging. And I don't mean to compare this to surgery but for a school that prides itself on teaching medicine/professionalism/patient empowerment, this is pitiful.

Not quite relevant, but I was accepted to AZ/FL 2+2 earlier this week, and then I got the email today as well. Was confused to have 2 Mayo acceptances
All the more reason to not believe the emails we got...

That means that the list also includes people who are ACTUALLY accepted too which is kinda good news because I thought we are the people who were gonna be put on the waitlist.

That's really interesting. The mayo students I talked to dd say that the adcom didn't even know what sort of glitch it was

WHAT DO YOU MEAN

Apparently Mayo itself didn't even know what happened in the system (ie, the email may have not been ONLY sent to WL/R's - but also those already accepted, as confirmed by @ddmf20). Which means some of us may get a call after all.

Either way, they need to get their **** together and COMMUNICATE.

Well, at least they finally sent a communication. But this communication is still *****ic. They have the results and yet still insist on "making appointments through early next week"? People made decisions, possible irreversible ones, based on the first email. People need to know how/if they need to address those decisions. They need an actual decision, not a possible appointment next week. I don't need my "appointment" as a phone call. Just send an email with the actual admissions decision. I sincerely hope this isn't indicative of other processes at this school, because this is unnerving.

Hmm.. I didn't get anything.

Maybe people who went into the portal to accept the offer was not included in the mailing list and did not get that update.

Doesn't that mean that basically if you got that email you're in R or WL?

**** this response. It is still extremely cold and really not apologetic at all.

Dear Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine Applicant,

On Thursday, February 13, 2020, you received a letter indicating your appointment to the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. The letter requested that you accept the offer of the appointment within two weeks.

Due to a technical error the appointment letter was sent to you in error, and Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine hereby withdraws the offer to appoint you to the medical school. We regret that this occurred. The school is still in the process of making appointments through early next week. We will be sure to assist you with any questions or concerns as the situation is corrected. If you have any questions, please contact Zach Huston at 904-953-7897 or Sandy Robinson at 904-953-0557.

In context, they were saying they are sending acceptances through next week

So if we g et the email, we got the R?

someone willing to call, im at work for 6 morehours!

I highly encourage us not to read into whether or not we got the recision email. The number of people who are *already* stated that they didn't get it is maybe unrealistically high
