I submitted my secondary application for Oct 18 and have not heard back. What are the chances that they have reviewed my application? Should I still be waiting for a response? My MCAT is 513 and GPA is 3.90

I've been waiting since August and similar stats to you so I don't think we can predict what's going to happen I guess we just have to wait and hope for the best 🙂

I was accepted ED and am attending the Savannah Campus! Is there a facebook page or groupme yet for the incoming class? Most of the people I know who are accepted are attending Macon so just trying to find some going to Savannah!

Does anyone know how long it will take to hear back regarding acceptance post-interview? I have an interview with Mercer coming up.

Hi I have kind of been lurking here and was also wondering the same thing. I interviewed in Oct. When do y’all think Is the earliest I’ll hear back?
EDIT- @FutureIcon Ok so I looked into past year threads and my interview notes and I think the committee releases decisions on the 2nd week of every month. But you can also ask them this at your interview and I'm sure they will give you the answer!

Current M1 here, you are correct about the earliest you can hear being around next week. If not, then I would say that you have about 1-2 more cycles per month to hear back after your interview (2-3 months after interview). After that, your chances of getting on the waitlist are getting pretty high if you still haven't heard. Best of luck to everyone and I am here if anyone has any questions!

So does the committee meet once or twice per month?

pretty sure its once a month on that 2nd Wednesday. By cycle, I mean 1 cycle per month, so if you don't get accepted by that 3rd or 4th month after your interview, Most likely you will get waitlisted.

Interviewed today and they said they meet to accept once a month and they usually call people right after the meeting and email the following day. if they meet on the 2nd Wednesday and you interviewed in October and they want to accept you right away, i'm guessing you should hear tomorrow/ thursday. Best of luck! I imagine recent interviewers like myself will have to wait til December.

I interviewed recently too and she said we get considered at the next possible meeting. Meaning you will be considered this month. Although of course idk if any kind of greater focus is given to earlier interviewees or anything.

Has anyone who got deferred from ED gotten an interview and possibly an acceptance yet? Also, what is recommended to do while waiting for an interview besides write the letter of intent that Ariel recommended me to do? I already submitted my letter a while ago but is there anything else recommended for us to do? I'm still waiting..... anyone else on the same boat??? Siggghhhh..... 🙁

soooo, random question... this may be dumb:
i have a class that absolutely SUCKS this semester and could potentially have a B and will may end up with a B in biochem. so clearly two B’s will lower my GPA. i’ve been accepted, but could a lower GPA terminate my acceptance or do i literally just have to make well enough to graduate with my degree? i want to do my best in the classes i have left, but my GPA will be affected by these grades

Nahh, as long as you can graduate and don't end with below a C on any of the rereqs you'll be fine.

Anybody??? ..... 😕🙁

I would wait on the LOI until next week. Presumably they will be meeting this week to discuss decisions and I doubt they would look at something sent in this close to the meeting date.

Then I suppose it's appropriate? I personally doubt schools really care about LOIs but I don't know for sure. I just know that most adcoms here advise not to until after an interview at least.

Guess maybe they're not notifying anyone and/or didn't meet today...? Unless everyone notified doesn't use SDN lol

Last time they met, it looks like people got calls in the evening and on Thursday morning. I wouldn’t give up hope that one or some of us hear back today just yet.
yeah I got an email from 1 of my interviewers like Wednesday evening but I didn't get anything more official until Thursday so definitely don't lose hope yet! there's still time!

oof alright. i guess my fitbit is gonna yell at me for my HR being through the roof tomorrow hahaha
I feel you. I know the odds are only so-so, with them only accepting between 2 and 15 people each meeting, but I still can't help but to get my hopes up because I liked the school so much!

Interviewed 10/29 and still silence... has anyone heard anything (or know anyone who has heard something)?
I interviewed October 15th and haven’t heard anything. I think they will be calling people today though.

Keep us updated here, to anyone who has already done the interview, how was it any tips that you all can suggest?

It's very welcoming and friendly. Both of my interviewers had seemed like they spent a good amount of time reading my application materials and wanted less to discuss the vanilla things every pre-medical students do and more wanted to know who I was as a person and why I want to do primary care in Georgia. Best advice I have is to be genuine and if you applied last cycle and didn't get in at any schools, have an answer for why. But, besides that, just be yourself and be prepared to talk about yourself objectively and you will do fine. I've interviewed at four schools (2 last cycle, 2 this cycle) and this was the friendliest and most welcoming one I had ever been to!

My guess is there were acceptances either last week or this week and they just weren’t to people who are on sdn. But I’m hoping I’m wrong .

Yeah it's possible non-SDNers were accepted the last couple days, but I doubt that not a single one would be on this thread haha

even non-acceptances would still hear something though, right????

Looking at last year’s thread people heard around the 14 and 15th of this month

Fairly certain the consensus is that the committee is meeting on the 3rd wednesday of each month. In fact I think she told us that at my interview.
