So I dont want to scroll through this **** show of projection and immaturity, is NYU done giving out acceptances to Sept. Interviews? How many have we even heard about on sdn?
It's unfortunate that was the vibe you got during your interview day. I can say that I don't think this is how everyone of my classmates are. I can't speak for everyone, but yes, finances matter for me because I'm low income. And imo yes, finances should matter. No reason to take massive amounts of debt if you can avoid it but, at the end of the day, once I was aware of my financial situation at my other choices it became solely about fit, location, community, and the unique opportunities that NYU offered. And, I definitely feel like I made the right choice coming here, too. Feel free to reach out to any of the current students lurking in the thread. Firm believer that people end up where they're supposed to be so hope the same happens to you. This is a perfect response. I understand completely why someone would chose it even if I might not. Maybe I am wrong and their is no negative vibe because of that. But for some reason, I think there probably is. When I asked people at my interview day, the first answer out of everyone's mouth was free tuition. At other schools, I heard the student body is great, location is awesome, ability to work with disadvantaged populations all that jazz. But here it was like strictly about the money which was off putting. Something like "Yes yes I get that its free tuition but what else"?
You’re right. He’s probably spending the next few weeks party planning for dozens upon dozens of friends and family over his full ride at UMich and UChicago. Ya know, food, music, the works. Planning for a bunch of people who want to celebrate you takes time.Yes, its unfortunate. With 2-3 interviews per week for several months, I tend to run into a lot of SDN people. Fortunately you dont have that problem
I will watch the movie on my flight tomorrow to my next interview. I am the most humble person you could ever meet in person. But when I am told "thats the attitude that nets you 23 II's and no A's, I gotta bring out the big guns🙂"
can you let us know where you decide to go so I can make sure not to go there - thanks in advance
What interview date are we up to in terms of acceptance calls?
Did you not resort to an ad hominem attack yourself by calling all the students here greedy?
I don’t really want to engage any further since I think this conversation isn’t likely to go anywhere. I was mainly commenting for other prospective students since you made some statements that I wanted to clarify 🙂. I wish you all the best on your cycle
ok i have a serious question, now that there has been a wave of Rs sent to people on hold (and your dude surprisingly survived it), i'm curious if they'll be sending out IIs to people on hold now? any thoughts or insight on this my friends?

Given that this is your situation, in what world is it okay for you to even have an opinion on how so-called "rich pre-meds" (presumably, anyone with more resources than you) value free tuition? Everyone graduating medical school can pretty much expect to make a comfortable living, so you are just really lucky that you live in a world where need based aid is available to med students, based on your financial situation now rather than what it is projected to be in the future.I can’t afford to pay for school since I am poor af. I am relying on need based aid from schools. At the end of the day, NYU is financing rich pre meds to go for free. Nothing wrong with that but it deffinitely makes me question students motives for choosing the school.
Then it'd be a good idea to message current students on this forum who attend the school to ask about its culture. I messaged a few last year before making my final choice and they were very honest.
Nah. I think the place is great. Loved the vibe and everything. Will attend it over any other t10.Hey @anon20202020 did you ever hear back post interview?
Complete 7/19, hold 9/16. Didn't get the R or the II 🙁First R today.
Complete 7/20, hold 9/16.
Stats: 526 MCAT, 4.0 postbacc gpa from NYU, 3.4 cGPA. Didn’t expect my postbacc institution to be my first R, so this stings a bit

are you a current student at NYU? How do you like the school? Can you share with us your application cycle, how many II's and A's, if you don't mind? Thanks! This is the kind of personality that nets you 23 IIs but no As.
Calipremed was banned for less than this. That’s all I have left to say on this thread.
Also @TempuraOreos your response was classier than I could ever have been in response to this clownery. Hope first yeHe's not. But @Gregor Samsa, @Beans203, and I are. You can also reach out to @NYUAmbassadors, too.are you a current student at NYU? How do you like the school? Can you share with us your application cycle, how many II's and A's, if you don't mind? Thanks!
Feel free to PM if you'd like.
Pretty well. I would suggest messaging me so we don't blow-up and derail this thread. Thanks! I thought @StanleyYelnats is a student at NYU since he's so active here. In any case, the same question to you. How did your cycle go and etc. I want to gauge my chance at NYU.
would you mind sharing when you were complete and if you were placed on hold?Hard Rrrrrrrrrrrrr
80% of premeds are going to NYU interviews. 20% are having a brain
